@@mearetom I have 1 free slot for RAM. So, 4GB may become 12.
@Alexciaooo10 ай бұрын
RAM usage doesn't mean a thing. It's *better* if Windows uses more RAM. Windows preloads apps you use often into the RAM, making them faster to open. Less RAM usage means choppier PC overall. Usually with no apps open, Windows should use about half of your RAM, and that's perfectly what it should do.
@mearetom10 ай бұрын
@@Alexciaooo It makes a huge difference when you have free ram for old computers. Having tight RAM can easily slow down CPU performance and GPU performance (If the computer uses integrated graphics) as it has to store remaining memory in a hard disk meaning it will be ridiculously slow on HDD, well for SSD, another reason to buy an SSD.
@togoxo10 ай бұрын
but ram usage does differ and is aautomatic like i have tried windows 11 on many; 3gb system it was using 1.5 - 2 gb,on 4gb it was using 2.5 - 3, on 8gb it was 3.5 - 5, on 16gb it is 5 - 8... so it is always trying to fill up memory for the experiance to be smoother. if you have an ssd @@mearetom

Atlas OS stands out as an exceptional lightweight operating system, especially tailored for gamers and power users who demand peak performance. It eliminates unnecessary bloatware and background tasks, leading to a quicker and more responsive user experience. With its minimalistic design and emphasis on efficiency, it serves as a superb option for anyone desiring a clean and distraction-free workspace. The installation process is simple, and the community support is quite beneficial. If you seek an operating system that emphasizes speed and simplicity while retaining essential features, Atlas OS is certainly a strong contender. ✅

Windows 11 is already a very fast OS no need for this kind of tuning for "performance" i went to the website of Atlas OS they have only one benchmark of Valorant a 4 year old game with simplistic graphics, Unreal engine 4 and DX 11 😆 the benchmark is at 1080p and they claim 800 vs 665fps😂 with Rtx 2070 Super a 4 year old card, i bet in a real life scenario with any 2023 game and a modern setup the fps difference would be 150 vs 153 fps which is as close as a statistical margin error, even Titus never claims gaming performance boost if you cut a few dozens processes because these services do not have heavy cpu/memory usage, making such changes to windows is just for aesthetic or emotional impact

If you're running MacOS or Linux (regardless of the browser) the MS website will immediately offer the ISO for download. If you're on Win then they will only offer the Media Creation Tool (really dumb). You have to install a plugin in your browser so that you can make the website believe that you are running MacOS or Linux in order to obtain the ISO as a download.

@warpspeedpower5 ай бұрын
If you just use the standard ISO then you cannot remove the TPM check and the MS account requirement during install. Yes, the latter can be circumvented with a certain trick, but it's easier just to get rid of it by default. What I did was first make the bootable USB using Rufus. Then convert that to an ISO image and copy that to the Ventoy USB. It worked during install, but you have to remove the USB when the computer reboots and then put it back again fast once it boots from the SSD/HD. If you don't do that then the computer will boot from the USB again and you'll once again have the Ventoy menu. And you can't select Win at this point because you'll begin the install process again from the beginning.

Decent video, but I feel like you made this FAR more complicated than it needed to be. Like, why not just install Ventoy on the USB and drag the ISO and the files? After all, Ventoy takes care of the TPM thingy. Also, why did you say you need to install drivers before? You don't need to; just disable driver updates, plug in Wi-Fi, and then go through the wizard. They step you through everything you need to do, including instructing you on turning off Defender.

idk if i wasnt paying attention, but why wouldnt you want drivers?

@@duck_mangrove You do, after U run the wizard. I've seen quite a few ppl having issues with drivers bc they Instslled it before atlas

Do we have to keep defender permanently off?

That was interesting, but i am curious of what it is like in the long run.

Early versions of Atlas were not ideal since windows update and security updates weren't included but this latest version I think is the best of both worlds with it being able to function like a normal Windows 11 install

@@NotroDan The only thing that bother me is that we can't do security updates. But i am actually trying on a VM right now.

some old games still requires the directX, does Atlas support this? because in tiny10 and tiny11, its impossible to install directX.. if theres even a way, its too difficult..

Is atlas os better or the tiny 11 is better? I have been using tiny 11 personally and its great but is it worth it shifting to atlas os? Please tell

Surely if Windows update is left on then the install will slowly revert back to default over updates and time?
@NotroDan10 ай бұрын
That's what I'm thinking too, unless they've done something to say only install security updates not feature updates I guess time will tell
