does it really complete a product when you have to buy it separately?

Don't take me wrong .I use BBC PRO in every project either layered or standalone.I strongly believe that they should sample a bit more layers on the Brass section (FFF etc) as an update and refine a bit the WWinds.Then YES we could say it's complete.The piano sounds great as expected

FINALLY A BBC SO PIANO!!! :D I was waiting so long for it, since BBC SO is my go to and I do a lot of orchestral covers, which also features piano! :D
@BenMartinBox Жыл бұрын
Nice theme /music /song orchestration. Congrats for that. I do agree about the advantage of being record in the same room space (BBCSO) but I also agree that there are a "ton" of pianos to choose from and composers that use BBCSO already have theirs preferred piano figured out, equalized and "room space" fully integrated with BBCSO by now... well at least I do, so, I really don't see the need to "throw" away money on this piano just for the sake of the "room space" integration. I do love "Spitfire Audio" products but this Piano is coming a little bit too late for being considered a "game changer" or to add any production value to the BBCSO composition process. Great review though. Stay safe.

I’m not sure about Spitfire anymore. I know they’re splitting up, part going with Chris in Edinburgh the rest being going to Native Instruments. The recent releases/promos say a lot. I want the old Spitfire vibes …

Is this piano designed mainly as a complement to BBC SO, or could it be used in Cubase as well ? Sounds are gorgeous and the possibilities are endless in the Pro version.
@StephenOConnellCmdShiftNew Жыл бұрын
Good question, I think it's mainly aimed at complementing the BBC SO orchestra, but I don't see why it can't be used as a stand alone piano and it should definitely work across all major DAWs, Cubase included.

Beautiful track by the way! Thanks for the video. Been using the Grand Piano from Waves, how does this one compare? I like a warm soft sound. Also how does the Core differ from the Pro?
@StephenOConnellCmdShiftNew Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I haven't used the Grand Piano from Waves so I'm not sure how it compares, but the Core and Pro versions really differ in the microphones used, the control over the mix of those microphones and some of the advanced controls. I think the Core version still sounds great, Pro just gives you that extra flexibility.
@tivermusic Жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for the video! Are the enhancements for the mixer (Solo and Mute buttons) only present in the piano, or are they also available for the rest of BBCSO Pro?

Great Piano. I bought it. But for example Pearl Concert Grand has a lot of more dynamic layers. For me the most important is beginning of the sound - BBCSO Piano has a very big "hit" on the beginning - missing the most soft hit - in MIX mics :)
@sandwich-breath Жыл бұрын
The pro version with the close mic’s sound really good. I’ll be waiting for 50% off on this. Is it just me or does it sound better paired with string libs other than BBCSO?!?

Got the pro version for £69.30 since I already own BBC SO Pro and get edu discount. Well worth it. Beats the pants off my Waves Grand Rhapsody Piano!
@emteepeeess Жыл бұрын
I felt I had to get this to complete the BBCSO Pro package - should have been included in the first place. But I don't particularly like it. First of all, compared to the several other piano sample sets I have it sounds a little "soggy" as though una corda. I was also disappointed that the tuning isn't stretched (or at least isn't an option). So top end sounds flat, bottom end sounds sharp - I suppose okay for embedding in an orchestra though.

You can definitely compose a nice track! This is excellent. Programming the MIDI? Not so much unfortunately. There are so many errors and weird choices (strange rebow points, portamento all over the place, wrong breathing places, and so on) that it makes it hard to follow your opinion on this new piano. I know it doesn't come from the BBC SO limitations as I use it daily.
@StephenOConnellCmdShiftNew Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the complements on the track! I do agree though, the MIDI programming is rough on this one. I'll be frank, I did not spend long on this track at all, after all I'm not getting paid for this so I had other work that needed my attention. I just needed a quick track to try and demo it in a hurry. Probably not the best decision as it doesn't show it off in the best of light, but I thought a demo track was better than no demo track.

I am using discover , yestereday i had a piano , to day after reinstalling , no more...
@Fastvoice Жыл бұрын
Should be vice versa. If you reinstalled the original discovery you won't get the piano. It's just an update called 1.7.0 that docks onto the other instruments to form the new plugin (1.7.0 is also smaller than the original 1.5 plugin).

@@StephenOConnellCmdShiftNew It's okay to like it. And of course, you don't need anybody's permission to make an over the top excited video about it. To me this is a money grab by Spitfire and I'm a little put off by it.
@minder01 Жыл бұрын
In the end, it’s underwhelming. It sounds just the same as the originals but with one higher dynamic layer. I don’t even feel like it integrates into BBCSO that well.
@gregmatchett7110 Жыл бұрын
I did a side by side with five other Spitfire pianos and this was the best by far.
@minder01 Жыл бұрын
@@gregmatchett7110 Hans Zimmer Piano is better and more versatile. All Spitfire pianos fall short of CinePiano and PianoTeq though. If you plan to do pure symphonic stuff of something like the late romantic-era, it's a solid purchase but cheaper and better options exist. I still stand by my original comment. Originals Intimate Piano compares nearly equal to BBCSO piano until you reach FF.
