I believe Skylark, the original singers, have a much better version. New Birth's version is a bit over the top. It's a good version but not as clean as Skylark. The lead singer in Skylark, Donny Gerrard, has an amazing voice. He went on to be a backup singer for Mavis Staples. He died in 2022.
