The 8th generation of the Browning B25 is here in the form of the 825 Citori. i was lucky enough to test the pro-sport out at the wonderful Domain de Sandricourt in France, shooting driven pheasants.

you should shoot an episode of your clothing, especially what you wore for this one. As a transplanted Brit to the USA, I appreciate the clothing worn for hunting and shooting, not just for its style but also the practical aspects, with perhaps a little history thrown in. I just did a quick YT search and did not find any videos covering this.. opportunity?

Such a cultural difference. Then again, when I'm rough hunting, the only people to judge me are the dogs. What the US could use is jackets really cut for wingshooting. My best jacket is my bowhunting jacket, which is cut for shoulder movement.

I thought there was no audio at first, until I turned my headset around. At which point I figured out it was mono right side, probably not something that would get caught while editing. But being deaf in my left ear it was noticeable right away. This happens quite often, not with your videos though, idk if there is a way to change it for headphone users at this point or not. But maybe in the future it could be looked at more closely. Thanks for a great vid either way, Ive been waiting for more vids about this gun!

Yep, totally agree. Although I am not deaf in any ear, I really dislike the mono voice for close, I often switch off videos which do this. Stereo for the voice “off camera” and the music and changing to mono back and forward is a bit rubbish. 😜 Apart from that, I love Johnny’s videos. 👍😎

Spotted one of these in Barbury for the first time up close and it’s the first Browning that’s got my attention and thoughts and got me going umm that’s rather nice the old 725 pro sport was undoubtedly one of the best mechanical actions. Any chance you could touch on why the UK gets the new chokes, new recoil pad(s), different engraving and a case with the pro sport vs the US. Even the forensic options are better over there. What gives, Browning?

Yes. But the US doesn't get nearly as good of a gun. No new Pro chokes. No fore end options , no case, no extra length but pad. Same stock as the 725, and the US guns don't have the nice engraving. We can't even get the old 525 XS Pro. I thought we were the gun country... just not O/U from Browning.

I have an American 825, and we definitely get shafted like someone else said. Cardboard and styrofoam box, cardboard choke box in plastic bags. Looks like a great gun. The re-contouring and engraving panels seem to acknowledge that the SL2 is a trendsetter. 😉 And watching someone running a pair of doubles on peg has me thinking that the "unsporting" smears on pumps and autos for holding more than two rounds are a bunch of rubbish. The pair of doubles can clearly maintain a higher rate of fire.

Magnifique! Video I mean. Knowing Browning, we probably can’t get the gun over on this side of the pond. Comparing it to my 65 year old thin ribTrap Special B25, I’d take my wood but in that 825 pattern, my action and engraving with that manual trigger and definitely the selector (the one thing I genuinely dislike about my old Superposed is the sloppy feeling selector). Probably the new choke tubes although I don’t really have any issues with mine being fixed except for skeet. Definitely my actual ivory bead vs that high vis plastic. But except for the modern styling, I do like it. I’d probably put that stock on a Browning Autumn and be extremely happy but of course they don’t let us have the autumn either so I guess I’ll have to keep my old Superposed and keep buying Italian (if you are listening Browning)! As others suggested a video on your clothing styles/brands would be interesting. I think it’s awesome and miss the class in today’s hunting here in the USA. But definitely glad I don’t have to spend a week picking briars out of those smart looking socks! 👍🏼👍🏼😁

Invented is a big word, I think JMB started the design and Val finished it and brought it to final production. Invented the first mass produced over and under perhaps is an acceptable term, although Merkel probably could claim that title in some small regard as their design went back to 1898 although less ‘mass market’ than browning. Boss could probably chip in too with the first modern looking OU in 1913(ish). There were over and under flintlock guns a century before break open OU guns.
