It’s nice. It came with a load of Roms on too. Some of them are a bit glitchy but I think I’m used to that with emulation at this point. A lot of people have been mentioning the screen tearing, which honestly doesn’t bother me that much. For the price it was a bit of a no brainer for me. I will say though, the small size isn’t the most comfortable thing to hold for long periods.

4:36 Quick FYI about getting GBA ROM's *legally* You can easily backup your GBA games with an NDS flashcard and a DS Phat/Lite, or a GBA link cable and a hacked Wii ALSO a quick note about Genesis/Mega Drive audio being tough to emulate, this is unimportant trivia really but whatever The Genesis/MD's audio is tough to emulate because of its use of FM synthesis. Basically that means you have two sound waves, and one has its pitch move up and down really fast in the shape of the other. If you time the actions of either of these sound waves incorrectly, it can sound slightly off, and playing either of these at a slightly different volume can cause a change in the resulting sound as well. It takes a lot of CPU cycles for correct sound reproduction, and using a multi-core processor can throw these things just slightly out of order, which sends the actual sound very out of line in the end. It's also important to know how the audio channels themselves work, but I won't get into that. I'm supposed to be researching how to fix my lawn mower. There have been fabulous emulators that handle the audio chip quite well though, such as Kega Fusion, but in general, Genesis/MD emulation can be spotty with audio sometimes.

The reason the backlight can be turned all the way off is for playing outside in full sunlight, where you wouldn't see the backlight anyway and it's better to turn it off to save battery life. This is the same reason the backlight could be turned off completely on the original Nintendo DS.

I received mine 2 days ago. As stated in another comment: I need to mention the case quality, the Led lights shine thru the plastic. Also the screen does not fit exactly in the case so green led and screen light emits around the screen. Even in classics like super Mario there is clearly tearing while the screen scrolls. Some games doesn’t run at fulls speed, eg fzero on the snes emu. Also some game refuse to start like Tyrian. I used this handheld out of the box - with the games as it was delivered. The viewing angle of the screen is good, but if I angle it a bit vertically bright while led shines into the eyes. With a bit more case or manufacturing quality it could be a much better experience . Even after years it’s not more pleasant than the eg wiz or some newer devices.
