Hey. Some suggestions to your game. Add a "Go" square so that players can collect 200 to help them build houses and hotels. Add a win conditions: When four pieces are arranged in a row you win (like connect 4). Also add more chests with pieces of Exodia in them. That way, through the heart of the cards, you can win the game against GMs! Hope this will be considered for future updates!

I don’t want to come across as cynical but I personally believe you may have over complicated things. I would’ve taken the water away, made the map bigger, add more bushes. Make it so the assassin isn’t affected by bushes and can only travel though your own pieces. If you still want to keep the water and boats personally I would just have a strip of water around the board with one teleportation boat to help people get out of sticky situations. (Unfortunately the game will probably end in a stalemate a lot, but hopefully the archers can deal with that problem)

He should've done something like: Chess World There is the normal chess board, but also 16 more alternate chess boards. These act as the same, but capture the king (capturing kings instead of checkmate) in an alternate board, you can then upgrade one piece in every board (If you don't have the piece in a board then that board is skipped). You can only upgrade each piece once. In each turn you can choose to move in any board. Upgraded pieces: Upgraded King (Leader): The king sits in a castle that stops it from being attacked from behind. If a ship/pirate ship is behind, it can shoot down the ship. Upgraded Pawn (Soilder): Can move sideways 1 square, can move/capture diagonally/vertically 1-2 squares everymove! Upgraded Knight (Warrior): Can move like a camel from Fairy Chess too! Upgraded Bishop (Pope): Can jump over 1 piece everytime (has to stop at g4 and f5), or the player can choose instead it to be able jump over 2 of its own pieces every time, but has to stop at g4 and f5. As soon as you move it in 1 of these ways it has to stay doing that. Upgraded Rook (Spy): It can move 1 square diagonally forward now. Upgraded Queen (Emperor): Can also move like a Giraffe from Fairy Chess. Upgraded Ship (Pirate Ship): Can send pirates on to the main land. Pirates move/capture 1 square all the time and when capturing a piece changes the piece's orientation to the pirate's color. The Pirate Ship can only move again once the pirates return to it. The Pirate Ship can move again however if another piece goes inside qit. Upgraded Archer (Crossbowman): Moves and captures like a king except it can move another square in the same direction. Crossbowmen are leapers. Upgraded General (Commander): Moves and captures like a King + Bishop Upgraded Mule Wagon (Stallion Wagon): Can move and capture like a knight as well. Upgraded Chancellor (Advisor): Moves and captures 1 square forward diagonally too. Upgrade Archbishop (Clergy): Move like a [2, 1] Leaping Rider + Bishop. Between each board is an entire board's worth of sea. No piece except the ship can go inside the sea, without drowning (being captured). Behind the flanks of the main board is the Ship, a piece that in the beginning can only move like a non-royal king. It cannot move to land. However, when it gets behind an enemy piece, it can turn the piece into a brick in the next turn and steal its abilities. When a Ship/Pirate Ship gets behind a king it is attacked (if it steals the king's abillities it counts as a king capture). When it gets behind a leader it can be shot down, it sinks into the water (gets captured). A pawn can promote to a ship with pawn abillities if the opponent still has a remaning ship. You only get 1 ship, no alternate ships. The place other boards are in is each direction from the primary board there are 4 boards. Pieces can go inside Pirate Ship/Ships and then leave when a Ship/Pirate Ship is adjacent to mainland, allowing Pieces from 1 board to travel to another using Ships/Pirate Ships. If a piece is inside a Ship/Pirate Ship and it gets shot down that piece dies too. After each game their must be a rematch where the black player was white. If 1-1 happens, another 2 games. j4, k4, l4, a5, b5, c5 are just the sea. Fog of war is done (which means only squares you can capture, steal, raid, shoot or move on are seen, the rest are invisible). 5-fold repetition. In ship/pirate ships, another piece that can be sent out is the Siegers. The Siegers move like rooks but cannot capture, however Siegers can move to squares occupied by other pieces, (although not jump over), Siegers when going on a square occupied by a Leader, they destroy the leader's castle, degrading that specific leader. If they go on a square occupied by a King, they capture the king. Siegers cannot be upgraded. On any board you can also sacrifice the rook on that board to upgrade any king to a leader. Popes can first become adjacent to the King/Leader, giving them recourse, they can use recourse to make walls in a neighbouring, unoccupied square, which are areas that cannot be moved into by any piece and kill Ships which crash into them, losing recourse after doing that. Siegers can breaks walls by moving onto them. Leaders/Kings can make unocuppied, neighbouring squares sea. No 50 move rule. If a piece moves thrice in 3 turns, it gets fatigue and cannot move for the next 2 turns, unless the Ship/Pirate Ship or a Leader/King is able to get adjacent to it, where it can undo the fatigue. If a Ship is moving and in the opponent Ship a Warrior is inside, the opponent Ship can cause a blockade for 2 turns on the Ship. There is a new piece called the Informer which you have 2 of, sitting on the same place as the rook. It moves like a non-royal king + a knight, and cannot capture. When it's on the same square as another piece, nothing happens. It can be used for unveiling the enemy pieces from the fog of war. You're allowed to skip your turn. Archers move and xapture like a non-royal king and capture 2 squares away, they are also leapers. The board is extended by 5 columns. (King is g1) On a8, a7, b8, b7, c8, c7 and l1, l2, k1, k2, m1, m2 are mountains (cannot be moved on by any piece). No checking. If a piece is able to capture on a square adjacent, then the piece can choose instead to kill the piece without moving there. The Archer is put on l3 and d2 (white) and b5 and j7 (black). The general is put on c1 (white) and k8 (black) and moves like a king+knight. The Mule Wagon is placed on i1 (white) and e8 (black). The Mule Wagon is the only piece that can move through montains, moving like a Crossbowman, getting fatigue in 2 turns instead. You only have 1 knight. On a2 (white) and m7 (black) is a Channceler (knight + rook). On b2 (white) and l7 (black) is an Archbishop (Knight+Bishop). Algebraic chess world notation: x - Capture/Raid d - Shoot Down (x, y) where (0, 0) is primary board h4 - coordinates s - steal b - build m - moat r - recourse giving Pieces: K - King or Leader Q - Queen or Emperor R - Rook or Spy B - Bishop or Pope N - Knight or Warrior - Pawn or Soilder H - Ship or Pirate Ship P - Pirate S - Sieger A - Archer or Crossbowman M - Mule Wagon or Horse Wagon C - Chanccelor R - Archbishop

You should make a new Chess piece called PacMan. He can move 1 square diagonally and 2 squares horizontally.Every time he moves, his movement grows up by x2. Every time he captures a Pawn grows up x3.If he captures a basic piece he grows up by x4.If he captures a special piece he grows up by x5.

`1:30 I think that the title of "Corvette" or "Sloop" would be more appropriate, but the name of the pieces are your call. Also, have you thought of "RNG Chess"? It's like regular Chess, but there's a 1 in 3 chance (5 or 6 on a 6 sided die) that a capture fails (with some exceptions, which I may or may not state below). On a failed roll, exact penalties would have to be agreed upon by each player, but a couple of solutions listed below could be the case. On a failed roll: 1) If the piece had to move to reach the target, it moves immediately adjacent to the target and it's turn ends. Both players may agree on option 2 instead if they so choose. 2) If the piece didn't have to move to attack (if the unit was adjacent or the attacker is a Knight, for instance), then the player can still move that or a different piece, but may NOT attack that specific unit with that piece. If both players decide this should be the case for all pieces, then that's between them. Exceptions that disregard the RNG factor: 1) Captures or threats involving a King. If something is adjacent to a King, that King may take it with no repercussions. 2) A piece is threatening (checking) your King. You will automatically capture a piece that is directly threatening your King. 3) There is literally no other piece you can move or tile you can move to. This is probably self explanatory, even if insanely unlikely in a real game.

I see you strugling trying to add new pieces, the idea on game design is “the more you add the hard to balance it is” so my advice is to look for only 1 modification rather to add so many new pieces on the board, for me the bushes idea was great! Have the map able to mutate and change as game progress a sort of RNG, it may flip a tile into water tile or water tile into land tile, any pieces on fliped piece unable to handle new tile change is removed board with exception of kings and queen tiles are on wont change and pieces like eagle feels like it can fly over water and land so it unaffected. Tiles can also change into other type of tiles such as shore water tiles were both land and water tile only forms around land tiles boarders meeting water tiles. But so boarders of game board may expand and change and non-sermetrically

Second idea is allow players to choose where to olace their times not have already placed ones, each player takes turns starting with king piece with least 10 tiles way from one another, next each olayer places queens all the way down to pawn pieces. But cant be placed near tiles with chests or similar stuff.

Third idea, I didn't like turn based advantages and dis advantages being first or second player. So I had an idea, what if you played two boards at once board 1 and board 2 each starting their respective first turns on different boards. When each player completes their turn they swap boards becoming each other's second turn player. Example player 1 starts on board 1 and player 2 starts on board 2, when they finish their first turn. The player 1 starts turn two on board 2, and player 2 starts turn two on board 1. This maximizes and minimizes turn based advantages if either player wins on any of the two boards they win the game
