People are surprised with how much passenger room there is in my Bolt EUV. People don't realize that without the ICE components, you can get a lot of room.

Dave. I have a 2023 Bolt EUV, which I use for my Ubering , and I love it. It's my 3rd Bolt that I have owned for Ubering purposes only. My 2023 model has ventilated seats, front only. The higher end model has a sunroof that opens up. I think the EUV is best for Ubering, as the 3 inches of extra leg room in the back seat is welcomed. I believe that for the price that I got it for after the 7500 tax rebate and can get over 300 miles in the right temperature settings here in Southern California, it is right on point. Keep up the great work Dave.

Great video Dave. My daughters and son in laws, as well as my granddaughter, turn off the one pedal driving as soon as they get in my 2023 Bolt. I Love the one pedal driving and added paddle as well. It is smart that they let you turn it off though, something Tesla should add because some people do not like one pedal driving. Stay safe.

My wife also doesn't like using one pedal. For me it's great for instant braking, it's just a matter of not treating the accelerator as an all-on or all-off button, and it's great for parking as you don't need to keep switching pedals. My energy efficiency when driving tends to be better than hers, and I think this is why.

My '22 Bolt EV opened my eyes to how space efficient EVs are. I fit a partially disassembled queen sized bed frame with underbed storage in that car! It made me realize I want my next car to be even smaller and that I could comfortably live with less car and less range. The one thing that always bugs me when people talk about charging speeds is they focus on DC charging, which isn't meant to be frequent with a tiny city car like the Bolt. 55 kW is fine for infrequent charging, but everyone overlooks how fast the AC charger is. '22-24 have a 12 kW onboard charger which maxes out almost every public L2 charger. At 12 kW I would pull about 15%/hour, which was great for topping off on lunch breaks or while grocery shopping.

The Bolt certainly has one pedal driving. Not sure why one would think it wouldn’t be available on the new Bolt. Loved our 22 Bolt. Now driving an equinox ev.

I have a 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV. Great car. No issues. Battery issues were only a few cars back 5 to 6 years ago 2017 model. There’s been no issues with them since they fixed it. It already as regenerative braking. If the only charging port available is 350 they can use it just like anyone else. The higher end cars don’t get priority. The cost of this is at least 2 to 3 times less than a Tesla and my insurance is 1/4 what I’d have to pay for Tesla. And most Teslas don’t get any more miles on them when charged than Bolts. I plug mine into regular 110 outlet nightly and drive it all week. It’s a super smart fun car and quick.

Same. We're still waiting on our license plates after buying the a '22 Bolt EV three weeks ago. We just ordered new plate holders off Amazon, I favored the text "Stealth Mode Ferrari" but my wife went for a trees and stars scene.

I loved my 2022 Bolt EV. It was a great car - especially for a daily/around town car. Didn't mind taking it on a medium range road trip (300 to 400 miles). Having a better charge rate and curve would have really helped the car - and NACS. My mom loved the Bolt as well. She could get in and out very easily and see outside quite well. Have a Tesla Model 3 now and love that even more. Would have liked to have kept the Bolt as a second vehicle when getting my first Tesla.

The Bolt surprised me at how much I enjoyed driving it around. It's very practical as a town runabout and its small size makes it perfect for errands in the city. The slow charging is awful though.

I bought my Bolt EV the same week you bought your Model X. It has a little over 8 thousand miles on it. I charge at home and I've never needed to use a public charger. However, I do want to get a NACS adapter so I can try out the Tesla Super Charger network. The car has excellent range and plenty of passing power. I plan on upgrading to a new Bolt in a couple of years. The Bolt is a city car champ. Gr8 vid as usual. 🚗🇺🇸🔌⚡

I have the 23 BOLT EUV. GM should add independent rear suspension and improve charging speed 100kW-150kW. BTW, the BOLT has one-pedal-driving.

Love my 23 EUV Premier. Would like the charge port in the front like the Leaf and Niro, so I don't have to back into a space. An inside hatch release and Homelink would be good .

That's a far better place for public charging, but is more likely to get damaged in even a light collision.

2017-2021 Bolt One Pedal Driving was shift into L. On that 2023, OPD is now that button behind D, and it toggles on/off and stays in either mode between starts. It also now does OPD in Reverse, which I don't like. Great video. Loved my 2017 & 2020 Bolt EV Premier. Now have the 2023 EUV Premier with heated & cooled seats, Sunroof, Adaptive and Super Cruise! Love it! Anything bigger wont fit in my small garage.

I believe, at least my 2019 has resistance heating, would be nice if the new Bolt has a heat pump. No need for a frunk. I think it would make servicing more expensive instead of everything laid out in the open. I live in a northern climate that gets snow, front wheel drive is all you need, I think AWD, only as an option would be fine, but it will increase the price too much. I never met a sun roof that didn’t eventually leaked, but I always keep cars 10 plus years. I get moving the charging port, but it seems like it will increase the cost. I agree 150 kw charging is fine.

I expect to keep my '17 buyback for 10 years, but I certainly hope that nothing new would have front seats that bad (I've made them acceptable with extra foam). And that a little space and money could be aimed at the budget rear suspension to help the ride and handling. I don't understand why all EVs have to have a frunk. The Bolt is as nimble and parkable because the hood so short. The advantages of LFP would seem right for this segment, but we have to be realistic about what that means. Range at maybe 225 with charging at 150 kw (with a better network and a better curve) would seem right.

State of charge is right there on the left of your main display, the green bar behind the guess-o-meter. It's divided into 5% segments, so yours was 50% charged when you showed us the display.

@@outofspecdave1554 Closest 5% is good enough for me, and all we get in ICE vehicles. If I know I'm down to my last 5% in my Bolt I know I need to get to a charger in 10-15 miles, not that I'm likely to run the battery down to that state. When I drove an ICE car I'd rarely wait for the red light on the fuel gauge to come on, I'd normally fill up when I got below 1/4 tank on the gauge.

They could improve the level 1 charging too. My 2022 BUYBACK EUV from GM defaults to 8 amps and maxes at 12 amps. My Leaf and Tesla L1 charge at 16 amps. BTW, the EUV came with 2 GM EVSEs and only had 6k miles. GM is limiting battery to 80% for next 6k miles.

GM should bring back the plugin hybrid Volt, not the BEV Bolt. The 2nd gen. Volt had 50 mile all-electric range, with the ICE for road trips. How often do you drive more than 50 miles in a day?
@ab-tf5fl
@ab-tf5fl 18 сағат бұрын
I drive between 50 and 200 miles in a day a lot (about once every week or two), over 200 miles in a day, occasionally, but much less frequent. A plugin hybrid would find itself resorting to gas for most of my miles driven, whereas, the Bolt, with the much larger battery, is able to handle a large majority of my miles driven using only home charging. While I do take the Bolt on 200-300 mile trips about once every month or two, and these trips often do require some public charging, I'm usually just putting in a little bit to arrive home at 10% rather than 0%, so even at 53 kW, I'm often in and out of the charger in 15 minutes or less. Faster charging would, of course, be nice, but not worth thousands of dollars over. Proponents of plugin hybrid vehicles often make an implicit assumption that every trip is either 10 mile or 2000 miles, but forget about the 100-300 mile trips in between. These "in between" trips work great in a modern EV, with zero or minimal public charging, whereas a plugin hybrid vehicle would just be burning gas.
