@@excape_artist No, I'm saying that the actual function of that specific switch, the headlight control, is not an imperative function. For things that are used often, like temperature control, there should be physical buttons for that. The headlight on/off/auto function is only used to be set to auto once and then rarely if ever used again. My point is not that physical controls are bad, it's that this specific function does not need a physical control.

If it’s true, that 7700 pound towing capacity with that 4cyl turbo is impressive.
@PapiAndrey
@PapiAndrey 11 ай бұрын
Not really. Many 2.0t 4 bangers have more than enough torque for that these days. The reason they don’t tow 7700lbs isn’t because of the engine. That said, it’s a 2.7l 4 cylinder so the cylinders are larger than the Coyotes 5.0 or GM’s 5.3, but cylinder count doesn’t really matter. The Pre-Lci X5 40i can tow more than the X5M and it’s only rated at 335hp/369lb-ft while the M model is rated at 625hp/553lb-ft. Why is that? Why doesn’t a TRX or Raptor R have a significantly higher towing capacity over the 3.6 or 3.3 N/A V6 models? The engine will become a limiting factor at some point, but there are other variables at play other than engine- as important as it is.
@magnus466

@@PapiAndrey actually, it’s at the top of its class in towing and it does it with the 2.7L engine/ 8spd transmission combination, a 5 passenger capacity, a pickup bed and an MSRP of $30,695…and all without using expensive diesel fuel. i feel like that tailgate is so slow that it would get really annoying if you’re holding something and you have to wait like 5 seconds for it to open

Yes, because moving you right hand over and doing a 'tap-tap' on a screen is SO hard compared to moving your left down and turning a switch.

@chadbrinkley6358 Your car must be made of cardboard or something because getting a light switch itself replaced is rare, I have 30+ year old cars that have never even needed the switches replaced. Not saying it can't happen, but a software bug preventing you from activating your lights is probably more likely than a switch failing.

The new Frontier is looking like a decent option for what it is if you want a regular, naturally aspirated V6

No. No Nissan truck is a decent option. lol

@@jeffpayne2675 in it's class it is. Tacoma? Redesigned with new engine, too early to tell. Ranger? Nope, too cheap and not worth it (Raptor version isn't worth the money either). Colorado? Redesigned, pretty good truck(especially in ZR2 trim) but for some odd reason there's no physical controls for the headlights among other things. So if you really want a basic midsize truck that's no nonsense, the Frontier is really your only option that still offers a n/a V6.

@@jeffpayne2675previous generation and older frontiers are pretty solid. They're built like actual trucks, no frivolous "creature comfort" garbage that breaks and is expensive to repair, just a good old fashioned work horse. Are toyotas the same thing but better? Sure. But on the used market you can pick up a Nissan truck for half the price of a comparable toyota. I bought my '12 Frontier with 120k last year, it's got 145k now and runs like a champ. Tows my boat like a beast.
