Haha thank you! Those goats have never seen a log they didn’t want to climb on. New log day is a big hit for them

That handle finishing routine looks great. I'll have to get myself some pine tar. It would be cool to see a masting axe video!

Some beautiful tools there with very nice handles! For certain a pickaroon is a must if you do a mountain of firewood. Save some of that bending for stuff lost under the work bench.. :)

I'm interested to see a difference in hardwoods between a hook and a pick. I have a feeling the pick is better for hard stuff. I really like the pine tar and linseed oil!

I think the pickaroon is going to be better for any kind of firewood. I’d file it sharper for hardwood though. I’ve been able to use the pickaroon to roll logs decently enough. I feel like somebody would need to deal with rolling a ton of logs before a hooks roof would earn its keep.

I worked at Council Tools for 2 years. Great people! When i was there the handles were waxed in batches in a tumbler

That’s so cool! I’d love to visit the factory some day. Also thanks for confirming that!

It is cool to see products out in the wild. This is the first I have seen of the pickaroon. They only had the hookaroon in production when I was there. We would see Rooster from Whiskey River stop in now and again.@@urbanlumberjack

I could use one of those. Listening to the dialog about the pound and a half head on a 36" handle, I have an answer to that one. A tool for everyone's box, that crankcase oil can be poured through a paper paint filter available at auto body supply stores, makes it much less messy. For those using it, that is... Very enjoyable episode Mr. @URBANLUMBERJACK...

Thank you! That’s a great idea on the filters! I saw a Casterman video with a PVC pipe for soaking handles, I’d like to try soaking one in motor oil to see what happens.

I assume the weddingish music is for the pickaroon and dolly getting married. Since they're literally the perfect match.

That’s hilarious! Match made in heaven. I wanted to use another song but couldn’t because of copyright! So wedding music it is I guess

Whiskey River and Council Tool are both superb. Brandon and Craig are rock-solid honest guys. I own and use several of their products. My CT pickaroon has the shorter handle. I'll likely end up with both lengths. Great video. Fun and informative. Thanks.

@@urbanlumberjack thank you. Is the whole item made in America? I'm sorry if you answered that in the video. I may have missed it.

@@urbanlumberjack awesome! I live in north Carolina. I try to only buy things like this that are American made. It's even better when they are local. I think the cooper tires I buy for my truck are made in north Carolina. I could be wrong but I think they are.

Hookaroon/Pickaroons are awesome, come in so handy. I keep a pair in the ute, one full sized and one medium. Save a lot of effort. Keen to see about the Masting axe. 👍👍🪓
