In this video, we focus on Ichikawa Danjūrō XIII and his two children, the dancer Ichikawa Botan IV and the actor Ichikawa Shinnosuke VIII, throughout their performances in Kyoto, Tokyo and Nagoya.

It's interesting to see how prominent Botan's role in these performances is. I wonder if she will be able to continue on in Kabuki or if she will be pushed out as she gets older. I feel like she could have the potential to be one of the first successful Kabuki actresses since the Meiji period.
