shouldve given the tip about glimpse timing tied to your thunderstrikes. each thunder strikes every 2 seconds. the first one immediately on cast. so if you glimpse someone on the 3rd strike, they would be glimpsed back to where you casted Q - first thunder.

Disruptor is so strong rn. It's likely the strongest hero in Dota and it's rare for a 5 to be so dominant. With an aether lens and shard you pretty much bully any character with a blink and they usually don't want to use their dispel for such a small ability. Glimpse is amazing against most cores in the game. After the spell immunity change, remember that using the glimpse at the end of the BKB/rage/Dispel/Blade Fury will work as it only counts when the little ball returns to the spot the hero was.

Hey Z, good video there, just wanted to add that Skem (aka skemberlu) from SEA, 12K+ support player plays disruptor quite often and he is one of the very few I see pick up a phylactery pretty often, and it might add to the thunder strike nuke synergy even further, not to mention the 1800 range glimpse + phylactery damage killing off low heroes.

@@Panelium Unfortunately it doesn't, but you can always proc once with thunder strike, then another with the glimpse once you have shard.

Having played 450 games in total, and 350+ of them way back in 2015, came back to witness what a beast this hero has become. Rushing shard is simply a must, since the vision can be so important. Have noticed that I sometimes pick the left talent on lvl 20. When people do not group up that much and your team has some good dmg - someone will usually die even with just 4 seconds of kinetic field. But having 0,9s 100% slow every strike with such a cast range is just good. Lets you contribute a lot with almost 0 downtime.

Still though. Don't underestimate glimpse. Being able to say "no" to people trying to disengage is incredibly powerful.

Gotta look beyond just the damage numbers and realize that having a button that pulls someone kicking and screaming away from their own team and into your team from two screens away is a way better way to get kills than a mana efficient harass nuke will ever be.

Nice video, even though I knew most of the stuff, I didn’t realize shard is good now, so I might try it in my games. Couple tips that I also use when playing disruptor: 1) I try to carry a backup observer ward for those long range glimpses, if somebody runs out of sight, I just drop a ward and usually it gives me just enough vision to glimpse. Shard might help with this as well, but obs gives more vision anyways. 2) If I’m playing against a big aoe initiator (magnus, axe, tide etc), in the fights I specifically look for them and when they are going for a jump, I try to preemptively drop my static. It’s a risky play, but if they don’t have a bkb, it might just give us an easy fight (and even if they do, but don’t use it before the jump, it might still take them a second or two to realize what’s happening, enough time for a follow-up stun).

What is good to mention is that if you are extending q, you want to target it on the ground, instead of the hero. If you target hero, it will continue striking in same timing. If you target ground, and hero "picks" it up, they will get the initial strike too => one more strike of damage (Note: the strike from picking up doesnt get the accumulated damage from talent)

I played him against kunkka recently who kept trying to xmark tp to base in lane and i just counted after he xmarked back and sent him back lol. Later he tried doing the xmark push waves strat while defending hg and i just sent him back. He just wouldn't learn lol

Shard is broken in Archon bracket, been using thunderstrike rush build for the last year with 71% win rate. People really underestimate how hard and far it hits

As a support disruptor, it's important to max out glimpse, then kinetic field and thunder strike at last. Your role is to punish enemies who are out of position, you don't need to secure kills if you're assisting the team anyways.

Hey bro, im a new player and your guides are very helpful to me. I wanted to ask why is quilling blade used as hard carry role(is that a good thing?) and why do I see players cut the trees around them? Whats the benefit of doing that?

Welcome to Dota, thanks for watching! Quelling Blade gives bonus damage vs creeps but NOT against heroes/towers. So you only buy it to cut trees or to get some cost effective damage against creeps. Carries (cores in general) will spend the most time right-clicking lane or neutral creeps, so it's fairly cost effective for them. They can cut specific trees to open up faster paths to get to different creep camps faster. Some trees are really useful to cut in the lane to open up new paths, make blocking/unblocking easier for supports, or see beyond the trees. Some heroes benefit from trees a lot (e.g. Treant Protector, Hoodwink), so cutting trees down can limit their impact in the lane. Some people just cut trees because they can lol

I play mid or pos 4 most of the time and both roles have this 0-25 minute kind of power spike where they can snowball the game but loss of momentum is really palpable. Disruptor places this kind of pressure-sandwich around the midgame. When shard comes in, his lightning strikes make it a lot harder to stay in the safety of the fog when across the map on the enemy side. Being exposed longer makes it easier for enemies to move in to help, for him to recall you back, chips you for more, can be placed defensively and even prepped with good timing for doubling up. The second half of the sandwich is the aghs. With the massive amount of swing gold and exp in the game, the formula benefiting supports, it's just not that hard to acquire if you are getting involved in some kills. Once aghs comes out, your bkb or tech choice in manta you just made by 20-30 minutes suddenly doesn't feel very timely when you can't even press it. Even the fear that you won't get to use an active item against his team composition can influence your item choices. Bkb actually looks way less attractive when you know a BH is scouting and tracking you and disruptor makes sure to ult you in every fight, even if he doesn't have the aghs finished yet. Makes you really think about how many times you will use bkb to it's best effect before aghs comes out.

Hahahaha. Just lol. Sneaking up, thunderstrike for vision and glimpse back after the blink. As for rage - just keep the vision and glimpse after it ends. With a shard thunderstrike lasts longer than bkb - you can glimpse them after it ends, should they get it.
