As most of you already know, I have been one of the first people to own the original Dodge Demon and have been putting in more race miles and hours on it than any other owner out there. I have thousands of passes made and know the Demon like the back of my hand. When I first heard whispers of the new Demon 170 I was a little skeptical. I had to know if Dodge listened to us racers who have put in the hours, work, and torn that car apart to fix every weak link. Well... I can confidently say that after my time in Las Vegas at Dodge's Last Call event and getting an up close and personal view of the Demon 170 it is the be all and end all of ALL muscle cars and factory drag cars.

You always made me so proud to follow you and this video filled me with joy. The fact Dodge chose E85 for their performance fuel changes the accessibility of that 1025hp big time. Instead of a $7 gallon race fuel we only need $2.67/gallon Ethanol E85 fuel at 105 octane. That's over a 50% cut in fuel costs with around the corner accessibility. Should deliver only a slight reduction in mpg with the modern boosted fuel injected V8. Hell I'd run E85 only as widespread as it is at all these Sheetz stations. If E85 hadn't been so politicized, I believe Dodge would've incorporated the option to run it in Hemi's much earlier -like so many racers and owners do with flex fuel kits.

As a Mustang guy, I love the dodge demon. I'm hoping dealer mark up's don't kill it. And earlier in the video, you said Ford and Chevy never made a challenge to the hellcat. The previous gt500 made 662, and the new one makes 760. Chevy was supposed to use the LT5 in the camero, but I guess they changed plans before killing the car

The Demon 170 is beautiful car built by a manufacturer… everybody is crying about it… I’ve called 27 dealerships and the best price I got was $35,000 over sticker… I can afford it, I just won’t do it.. I wish we could just order thru the factory and have it delivered thru a central pick up location , unless my local dealer is willing to sell it for sticker and make the normal profit… If Tim can maybe thing about this alternative for the normal blue collar worker.. thanks for letting me vent… always love your honesty and content … 👍🏻😎

I was lucky to miss out on the Demon in 2018 , dealer screwed up, long story short Ingot a special order 22 Super Stock, it ran 10:40@133 ,Took me 7 runs to figure out the car, Im 63 and while racing since 1970s I took a break for 13 years , fastest car time I ran was 11:60s and that was ultra fast 44 years ago, 10 seconds will plant in in the seat full track !!!I My stage 2 kit is in, with good tires it will run mid 9s on 94 to high 9s on 91 pump fuel, Once I make that 9 second run I'm parking the car, Ill still drive it on the streets now and then , I'm 99% done with a low to mid 12 car I've been building for 9 years on and off Hot street / strip / show, Total frame off project , Super Stock buyers got the deal of the century with all weak links have been corrected ,And ill give you a hell of a run against a 250K Demn 170....................OH SORRY You can run it at a sanctioned track without a full cage !!! But all 170 owners enjoy your new car ! Dang this 170 is so sick. I love how these cars look. Dodge always did make some nice awesome looking muscles cars. But camaro and mustangs not joining kinda sad in the drag racing scene. Their focus was making fast cars around the circuit track not drag racing. Dodge is focusing on drag racing when ford and chevy are pass that stage. But we all seen gt500 and ZR1 with slicks and slight tunes running low 9 and not even making 1025 hp reason because these cars weight is 3600 to 3700 pounds. Not a 4300 lb car that dodge keep building. these gt500 and ZR1 camaro with tunes and light up grade for drag racing is so endless with mod you can do. Mustang and Camaro are fast around a circuit track or can be built to run 9 or 8 with a few parts swap out for drag racing. But again dodge always been a muscle car brand meaning straight line racing. while camaro and mustang are consider pony cars that can do it all not just go straight. At the end of the day I love this 170. Is just the most agressive and toughest car we will see on the streets.. 💪

You said the original Demon engines work great with 18lbs of boost. Can you tell me what the problems are when you try to run over 18lbs of boost on the original Demon/Redeye engine? Thanks.

The charger starts to encounter issues Supplying an over abundance of air. Therefore the boost starts to drop off as the engines Rpm climb to the top of the rev range. Let’s say it starts at 18lbs by redline that could let’s just say 12lbs. (I don’t know actually numbers but you get the idea.)

It won't be done on any normal occasion. It takes a lightweight driver, perfect negative DA, very cool weather and perfectly prepped dragstrip. Plaid will beat it even on the strip 99% of the time and 100% on the street.

Here's the thing that I found with all them the major American car brands Dodge is strictly for the drag strip where a Chevy and Ford are typically more Associated to road courses and race tracks

I getting a Challenger and order it and leaning towards a jailbreak So the question is the 170 is not good for drive around suspensions set up more for quarter mile Like your input if you don't mind Will the car seated drug strip yes maybe once every 2 years We'll get along miles maybe about 5 to 10000 a year.

The REWB Challenger is the best for all-around driving fun. The suspension is adjustable in-cab so you can go from stiff and very little body roll for a drive on twisty roads or a track day, to soft and supple for cruising around town and on the interstate. It also has massive Brembo brakes at all 4 corners for great stopping power and little fade when hot. Both the old and new Demon as well as the Super Stock have VERY drag-specific suspensions for getting the very best launch from the line possible. Comfort was not really a consideration but an afterthought on these. The Demons and Super Stock also have much smaller brakes (rotors and calipers)at all 4 corners to reduce weight and allow for a smaller diameter wheel to fit. Buy the REWB Or Jailbreak Hellcat Challenger and you will NOT regret it. Owning one gives you the ability to feel great at any time. You are having a really crappy day at work and are in a bad mood?? Get in the car and take a drive for 30 mins somewhere where you can punch the gas and do a few 0 to 60 pulls or a few 40 to 120 rolls and I promise you will be smiling. They are absolutely an instant mood enhancer for me. LOL

A friend of mine knows the owner of dealer here and put me in touch with him to order a new C8 for my wife. He was willing to do the sticker price and required a 5000 dollar deposit. I built the car order and I watched them put it in. That was like November 2021. I waited and waited and waited. A year passed by and at this point I had decided screw this I am going to buy an F Type SVR or a Mercedes AMG GT for her. I found a perfect F Type SVR in New York and bought it. I left the corvette on order and was either going to buy it for myself or sell my deposit to someone else. Maybe two weeks after buying the F Type he texts me that he cannot sell me the car I ordered at sticker, WHICH WAS THE AGREEMENT, and instead needed an additional 15,000 over sticker. I was livid. He kept my money for over a year and then weaseled out of the deal we made. Hell, if i wanted to pay 15k over sticker I could have bought one in November of 2021 and not waited a year. Honest dealerships are few and far between these days!

Dodge Overstates the performance as always. Demon 170 will typically be 9.5 @ 146 at best. 8.9 sec qtr mile runs will be extremely rare. Perfect conditions are needed all around. The same challenges will present itself. Getting it hooked up to make a clean pass. The Tesla plaid on the other hand will run 9.2 @ 151 consistently all day.

Honestly Dodge should’ve bypassed the dealers altogether on this like they did with the Drak Pak ! Concierge service you call into and order your car set up your financing,they build it and it gets delivered to you just like the Drak pak ! That could’ve cut out the BS !
