With more than 90% of the world’s cricket fans living on the Indian subcontinent; the need for skilled, diverse voices to bring the game to audiences across India and the world is vital.
A group of 18 women from across India have come together in Delhi for a training camp focused on commentary, mobile journalism and podcasting. Among the participants were ex-players, junior and experienced journalists who shared a passion for the most beloved game across South Asia. Presenters included international players-turned commentators, Lisa Sthalekar and Jess Jonassen, and a group of respected Indian sports journalists.
The Commentary and Mobile Journalism Program (CAMP) is delivered by ABC International Development (ABCID), with support from Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade (DFAT), and builds on the foundations of ABCID's Women in News & Sport (WINS) program.
