From the flavor text in the announcement it seems like this set will definitely have ninja, assassin and illusionist. James saying this is best set yet is crazy considering they just put out Heavy Hitters

I am going out on a limb here and predict that the two illusionists we get might be just a normal illusionist (since we have not gotten a non-talent illusionist yet), and perhaps the other is a primarily blue illusionist with the new talent.

I am guessing exactly the same. The other option for me is 4 heroes in total from 4 classes. With wizard added to the mix but it seems less likely than the usual 6 heroes 2/2/2 split

Uprising was 3 heroes: 2 Draconic 1 Ice. The hope is that Mistveil is 6 heroes: 3 w/talent 3 nontalent so you can make a decision on which class and if you want talent or not. Ninja, Assassin, and Illusionist makes the most sense but I wonder if there is crossover between wizards and illusionists. References to moon initially pointed me towards Waning Moon, aka a Wizard weapon. So I could also see Wizard being in this set. The crazy idea would be to do a traditional 4 hero square draft but the crazier idea would be 8 heroes/4 classes (Ninja, Assassin, Illusionist, Wizard) Talent name suggestions: I always liked "draconic" being of dragons and from Volcor so I would really like to see something similar but for Misteria. Initially I thought "Hydrine" would be cool but that is Greek and "Undina" is a reference to European folklore water spirits, so they don't really work for the Japanese vibe. Maybe "Naga" could fit but it's not as elegant as Draconic. I also like "Goryo" as they reference water spirits. Other takes could be "Haze" (Like haze bending) or "Vapor" or "Obscura" or "Miasma" (because of the poison effecting the villages) I personally like the last 2. Speculation is fun!

Wizard could probably use some love tbh, hope we see something added there after this set. Definitely see all your options being very possible!

I expect the 3rd 2024 set to be the "all arcane" set James has mentioned and imagine we'll see both wizard and runeblade

If there are two talents, I would bet on there being a Spiritual talent and Celestial talent. Celestial was my guess from the start, but you mentioning Spirit made me think it could also be that if there actually end up being two talents in there!

Im curious what has everyone so sure that it is illusionist? "Like the waning faces of the moon... They have waited." Pretty clearly speaks wizard to me given waning moon is a wizard card

The character shown in the splash art is almost 100% Amira the illusionist seen on many different illusionist cards. She uses blue illusionist magic and seen in art where it looks like she's in Misteria (ie ninjas attacking her). It's also in the lore that one of the villages hidden in the mists of Misteria uses illusion magic.

My wife and I are both backing, I'm currently considering dropping FaB for it since I'm basically just a collector these days since our daughter came along. The hope is it'll be something we can play regularly and upgrade our decks together, having chosen 3 factions each.

Absolutely Amira Surana in the key art! I am ready! 🪞✨👘 Amira like a mirror ^_^ (pun name see Fractal Replication art).In the Spears of Surreality, you'll notice she appears in front of a crescent moon. Flicker trick she's wearing crescent moon earrings. Fractal Replication she has sun+moon adornments on her hip. She inspired me to create my first piece of FAB content.
