Tell Billy to do a couple of whatever he is showing you and let you do the rest with him supervising, so you can feel comfortable moving forward on your own because you will have confidence in how to do it. Hi Billy (and Ryan) you should do a favour to Ryan and let him do the work while you supervise. If you want to learn anything you have to try it. Just look at Yanis and see how much he has learned. When I look at Ryan I think that he is almost as capable as Yanis. They both speak french so there are possibilities.

When ppl help you should ask what step you might be able to accomplish next in order to keep the project moving. It’s great that Nick and Billy are helping but not every job requires a high skill level. (Honestly I think you could have done noggins)

In a lot of cases, like with the placing of the joists and now the noggins, Nick and Billy could have done the first few and let Ryan do the rest. This is like doing someones homework for them, Ryan won't learn a thing. But it sure is convenient.

I agree with this. While I think it’s amazing his friends are helping him. I just feel like I’m constantly waiting for Ryan to start the renovation… just like with that apartment. I’m all for him learning, but what has he really learned? His friends are just doing it, which again is fine, but he shouldn’t keep saying the house HE’s renovating.

Ryan, you can tell Billy Canadians call it "drywall". Before you secure it to the ceiling, put some strapping perpendicular to the joists to screw the drywall panels and you'll have perfect joint alignment every time. Greg 🇨🇦

Billy, teach Mr Ryan to pre install all his noggin screws in advance just before they break thru so once the noggin is installed into place he won't need to have a second helper to install them...holding the noggin in place while starting them might be a bit tough for a novice carpenter...lol

Ryan, my dear, when handing an instrument to another person, hand it to them as they are going to use it. A hammer; you hold the working end, and give, in this case your bestie Billie, the handle. He doesn’t have to stop what he’s doing to turn it properly in his hand. The same with a drill, saw, etc. Practice makes perfect. Also happier helpmates. Love what’s ah[pending to the abode.

If you are going to install insultation between the floors , just sheet rock the ceiling from the floor below and then install the insultation before putting down the upper floor and it's safer .

The joist widths are all different due to the house not being square it took me a while to figure it out but the house is almost a triangle shape. The back wall is straight and the front wall is on and angle \ due to the street. The Noggins will all be different lengths between joists, bit of pain but worth the effort. Well done Ryan! Thank you Billy for loaning the tools to get the job done. Can't wait for the next video

No, he won't if he doesn't put down the camera and start doing some of the actual work himself. Why buy a house that needs a total renovation if you're not willing to put the sweat equity to get the job done? So far, his friends have done most of the actual work.

@@6109river I'll give him a break, but I see other vloggers who are equally inexperienced learn how to do things on their own and put in a lot of work. They learn through trial and error. In the last video his friend chided him for not sweeping the floor. That was a simple task that needed no training.

Sheet rock = dry wall is what I've always heard and called it. Though I know sheetrock and dry wall are interchangeable in Canada depending on where one lives. Well done boys! Great job!

The 15K house you are renovating in rural France is coming along spectacularly! You used to do tours of other properties, and my dream is a small cottage on an acre or two outside a little rural village. Can't wait to get out of the US.
