Hello I have upswept headers on my dragster that has some really big collectors can I put the o2 sensor in a single pipe instead of the collector

We are ordering two of these Sniper 4500 systems for our Big Block Chevy dragsters. They will replace 4500 carbs. However, I have the same concerns Ken B has. We use VP Fuels C16 race gas for our 582CI engines with 16 to 1 compression. I'm guessing C16 has lead as well as other additives. How long can we expect the O2 sensor to last? Is there a way to change it to open loop after it learns our setup? Thanks!

That not true it take a lot of work Most people go back to the originaldominator carburetor and get better performance faster easier to tune than your sniper 4500 series if I could send it back the Holly I would

I have two engines. One is N/A and on that motor I run dual carbs on a fabricated intake. How would two electronic carbs work on a similar set up? I run a LAMBDA data recorder to keep each cylinder working to its optimum, um, ultimate...I am still looking for better adjectives (let me get back to you that!!!). Can two electronic Snipers run together so I can adjust each injector to better suit my set up?

Adam, Is this 4500 SNIPER USCG approved for marine use? I have a 38’ SCARAB KV that runs Dominator carbs on a pair of 572ci motors at approximately 750hp each. Carbs work great, but the fuel burn is atrocious. Can these run in closed loop and perhaps save me some fuel while doing everything that the 4500 carbs do? Thanks, Scott

He tells you at 3:45. It matched the carb on the first pass and ran .002 faster on it's second pass right out of the box. It will only get better as he makes more passes and the Sniper optimizes the tune. thx J

I would have liked to see an actual throttle stop run. Im looking to convert from the conventional carb to Holley EFI. Who do i need to call to get going on this. EFI would be much more consistent!.

I just purchased one of these for my 615 c.i Super Gas racer. Reading the instructions, I discovered that it doesn't use an inlet air temperature sensor, or a Barometric sensor. The instructions also said it was to be used with unleaded gas only. If this unit is relying on the O2 sensor only for tuning and I'm using race fuel, won't the O2 sensor foul and make the unit inoperable? I was hoping that I could program it for existing atmospheric conditions using temperature and Baro sensors but I guess not.

Ken, The Sniper Stealth contains an inlet air temp sensor that's built into the ECU. There is also a 2.5 (20-21psi) bar built in MAP sensor but the ECu has extra inputs to wire in an external MAP sensor if needed. As far as your fuel question goes, Sniper is designed to run on unleaded fuels, but you can use most race fuels as long as they Do Not contain any alcohol or methanol!! (Chris is running 118 in his rail with the Sniper in the video) Also running any fuel that contains Lead will severely shorten the life span of your O2 sensor and is not recommended! Thx J

@@HolleyPerformance Thanks for the reply. I'll be running VP C 114 or the Sunoco equivalent. Can I simply program it to run without the O2 sensor? As you are aware, throttle stop racing requires dead on consistency.

@@kenb1376, You can de-activate the O2 sensor, but you better have a good/ proven fuel and timing map for your engine before risking it! Thx J

@@HolleyPerformance Thanks, again. I used a Mega Squirt a few years back with no O2 sensor. I had to program the 16 x 16 grid from scratch using TPS and RPM (Alpha N). It used VE #'s. I had some dyno data for the engine (511 Chrysler B-1) which gave me ballpark data for the VE curve. It ran well. I'm planning on starting out with the O2 sensor with the Holley, but I'd like to be able to program WOT @ 13:1 and have 14.5:1 while on the throttle stop at about 4000 rpm. Can I switch the Holley to Alpha N as well?

@@kenb1376 Sounds like you have some good experience then! Unfortunately Sniper does not have the ability to tune in Alpha N.

He didn’t mention what it ran on the carburetor. He explained the efi times only. Also will it work if your above 1250hp say like 1500hp to 1800hp when your on force induction boost or nitrous.?

It's an ad for an EFI system, that's irrelevant.

Tommy, It is only recommended for up to 1500 HP NA, anything above that would be pushing the limits of the injectors and fuel flow. 1250hp is with a boosted engine and there are a lot of variables that will affect the max HP rating. I was there and If I remember correctly the very first pass (no tuning) it ran a tenth slower than the carb passes. We made 2 more passes and the times were within 2-3 thousandths of his carb times. With some tuning and more passes I'm sure it will turn even better times. Thx J

It doesn't learn until the motors at 160 degrees so he's lying to you when he says he just bolted it on Then if it don't like the voltage it's getting it shuts itself off right in the middle of a pass
