Yes, but also soils, fertilizer, and growing conditions can affect the 🌶 as well as early, mid, and late season. Ohio, Michigan might produce milder peppers than say Florida or Georgia. I never realized how much produce is affected by climate

Yep. Climate IS EVEVRYTHING... I'm here in the very eastern tip of the Philippines and it is monsoon season (June to December here). I've planted 100 superhot seeds and had 5 germinate. I've tried everything. Soaking in hydrogen peroxide, planting in a propagator. It's just too hot and too humid and wet. We'll over 30 degrees day and night and you are dripping wet from the humidity 60 percent of the time. Real topics.

I finally got out to the garden at my folk's place. It's been cold and wet in Minnesota, but the dog days have finally arrived. I got a few super hots setting fruit,. Next year I'll probably swap to some more cold tolerant varieties like pubescens. Shout out to the cultivators!

I have a chili pod data sheet from 2020 to 2022... for real .. 10 hottest pods of the season 10-15 best tasting pods All the new varieties of chilies And a tallyMark of how many chilies in Total ove eaten that season.. Ive eaten 139 different varieties of peppers in total and over 150 to over 200 pods a season on average.. And its all documented 😅.. Jonny your data sheet would be a book lol

I have nowhere near the tolerance you do (at one point I had worked years into building it up quite high, but I fell off the wagon and it reset lol) so these are things I couldnt eat and properly appreciate. Weight of a pepper doesn't alter the heat as much as one might think. Very easy for me to determine what's hotter. It wasn't always like that. Now, if i do a 10 pod challenge I could super accurately tell you the order they would rank. I certainly wouldn't be able to tell you their corresponding SHUs, but regardless of their size, the change in heat is very noticeable and definable. I wish I could explain it better than that.
