Great video as always. I bought my first iray scope, a th50c V2 640x512 and had hell trying to zero it and keep it zeroed, called them and Jeff ws more than patient with me and explained that it zeroed differently than my other 4 thermals ie: using the coordinates vs std one shot zero. Have you ever done a video on this or will you for us low tech night hunters? Thanks for the entertainment

Curious on your thoughts on clip on thermals. Seems like you use dedicated set ups. As a guy living in the midwest I like to shoot, hunt a variety of different things with different rifles. Just getting into varmint hunting, but not sure that I want a dedicated set up that only caters to low light/after dark scenarios. Whats your thoughts on clip ons? Pros, cons? Maybe a video soon? Unfortunately the ballistics data on the box (velocity) won’t be accurate because it varies based on the barrel length and platform. Most are tested in 24-26 inch bolt action rifles, so for most people the velocity won’t be accurate at all

I have tested a bunch of factory ammo and the only ammo that matched the box velocities is Hornady 120 SST in 6.8 spc because it’s actually tested in a 16 inch barrel

You loose about 25 fps per inch of barrel less

My Probabky with night hunting and not having a range finder is you have no concept of how far away things are if it’s pitch black. I just have the Rico bravo it works ok but I really wish I would have gotten one with a built in rangefinder.

How well does the recoil activated recording work? Is it sensitive enough for very low recoiling rounds like 223 and 22-250? I have messed with some recoil activated recording devices in the past, however, with heavy bolt guns and small calibers (223 and 22-250), the lack of recoil wouldn't trigger the recording.
