Been riding Slappy trucks myself (hollow inverted ST1) and I switched from Ace. I love Slappy trucks more.

Those are the last 3 skateboard trucks that I use on my boards. Ace 44 AF1s, Slappy trucks on my 8.75, and the new Stage 4 reissues for my Powell 8.6. I put firm bushings in all my trucks

Haha yeah it might sound extreme but before the stage 4’s I had been skating Independent’s hollow 169’s which have an axle width of 9.125” to suit the bigger boards that I’m riding now so going from those to the Stage 4’s that are solid and 9” wide didn’t take anytime to get used to at all. These trucks are definitely legit 👌🏽

I picked up a pair of Stage 4 Independents about a month ago, and they're my favorite truck. The bushings feel great out of the box which is unusual of Independents. The Stage 11 get Bones hardcore bushings immediately. I own a lot of different trucks: Krux k5, Ace Classics, Polar Bears, Independent Stage 11 and Stage 11 forged hollow, Grind King Disruptors, Thunders. I'd take the Stage 4 over any of them. The Ace Classics and Grind King Disruptors are the only ones that come close for me.

Which one would say has tighter turns / better carving between the ace classics and stage 4?
@jacksonwallace62114 ай бұрын
@@MauroScardigno the stage 4 turn tighter, but it's not by a lot. Aces are like a mellower Stage IV. They both dive and carve.

I can only offer a standpoint on these trucks with the baseplate switched out for some Indy stage 10 low plates. I did it in order to get KP clearance and they feel very legit.

I found a set of Indy stage 7’s at a gf’s basement skate set up. Took them and rode them. They were soooo heavy annnnd they stuck. The kingpin on stage 7 is like worse than venture lo. So when I got the stage 4’s I expected them to feel somewhat the same ? They felt exactly like stage 11’s and that’s why I love them

I liked them at first, but, the problem I had was that the bushings hardened up too tight. I've had that problem with Independent's bushings in general. Even with the "super soft" ones. I think when they age, they get harder. And I think Independent doesn't make soft bushings for Stage 4. I found Ace AF1s to be much looser even after use. I'm going to give Bones soft bushings a try on some of my Independent trucks. Not on the Stage 4 though, since supposedly they are different.
@Paul_Meister Жыл бұрын
You can put the AF1 bushings in the Stage 4 trucks. Am currently riding them like that and they feel great.

@@user-pe9vf4ht6s Aces are definitely loose as hell straight out of the box with the kingpin nut flush at the end of the kingpin. If I wasn't already used to loose trucks, it could definitely be dangerous wheel bite-wise. I'm mainly just cruising around with them though. If I was riding vert with them, I would probably be scared riding them that loose. I have 60s and 66s. The 60s firmed up after awhile. The 66s are still quite loose. The 60s started making a clicking noise, which think are the washers. I've heard other people complain about that. Never had that problem with Indy. Bones seem to click as well.

There's bushings that fit independent trucks from stage 1 to 7 I think, stage 4s are included in this and Ace pretty much being stage 3 indys have almost the same setup too

q: is it just nostalgia? if not, why did they feel the need to make a stage 5-11.. also, 169's & 215's have always had the 6 holes, my stage 11s do, just no use for a 6 hole truck on a board under 9 in

@boepiesnoep7867 Жыл бұрын
Like dude above said. Ace trucks are a clone of the stage 4 Indies, so these are more Ace than Ace. Ace bushings even fit better in the stage 4's than Indy stage 11 bushings. Stage 4's have slightly higher bushing than the stage 11's.
