I received a JW letter in the mail and actually responded to it. I explained how I was brought up in this cult a believe it was the reason for our family turmoil and ultimately my father's suicide. I offered to meet and share my experience but amazingly, no reply. These people are so weak, can't even handle a little push back. As a salesman, I recognize that even a negative response is an opportunity to further the conversation. I guess they realize their product is garbage.

So, an elder's daughter was throwing a graduation party for myself and two other brothers were graduating at the same time. And I had mentioned to one of the young guys in our hall about the party. He was severely mentally challenged and had not been invited. So his mother called the elder's daughter and asked what he should bring for people to eat. Well, I got a phone call telling me that I have to tell him he's not invited. So of course I told her I wasn't going to the party and I would hang it with him instead. Her father, the elder, knocked on our door about 10 minutes later and just started yelling at me. My dad came down the stairs, he was also an elder. Told me to go upstairs and then they yelled at each other for 20 minutes. Turned out I had to go to the party but I could go very late. But I had to make an appearance. I spent the entire day with the guy that wasn't invited. We had fun.

And like every other form of Narcissist; they will seek out relevance and opportunities to control others, by (literally)any means necessary. Just like, "No News Is Bad News". In the case of Narcissistic Cults such as Jehovah's Witnesses, "Any Reaction is still a form of 'Narcissistic Fuel'(Attention and Ego Boosting Reactions)". Any reaction to WT/JWs is an affirmation of Validity and Acceptance. Take that away and do not react or engage, and that "relevance" and "validity" becomes non-existent. WT/JWs lose their influence and control. JWs do not care if their own behaviours are healthy or unhealthy, as long as from their own Narcissistically Based Perspective they can be "justified" and gain 'any' reaction from the individual they are looking to intimidate or control. The rules for escaping the influence and control of Narcissistic Abuse and regaining Personal Power, are the same, whether the person is JW or Non-JW.

In answer to your question YES!! I had 2 separate occasions where elders apologized to me. The first was when they came over for a shepherding visit with my then inactive husband and asked me to leave the room and when I came back they loaded me down with every scripture talking g about "a quiet and submissive wife". The next day at the hall one of the elders asked me how I felt about the conversation and I told him that being treated as a crap wife because my husband chose on his own to quit attending was not helping my situation. He apologized and was sincere. The 2nd time was one elder has a gathering at his home and a teenage boy was going to drive my son home but the elder called me and said that wasn't appropriate and I had to wake my daughter up and come get him at midnight. I questioned him why and he starts babbling about some watchtower so I told him to show me where it said that in print. The next meeting we fought in the back about it and he used some random paragraph in the km to show me. I called him out and said "that's not what it said at all and you're just making up rules for others" I told him we will have to agree to disagree because he was just on a power trip. The next week the watchtower study had a paragraph about elders not making rules for the publishers and he came up to me and said he thought about our last conversation and wanted to apologize for making what was really his own interpretation over something as a rule for me and he needed to respect my position as a mother to make decisions for my son. I mean I get it he was trying to keep the possibility of anything inappropriate happening by not having my son alone with a kid a few years older than him but if they were in service working alone there would have been no issue. It's just cause it was midnight and the kid was supposed to bring my son home.

Anyway, in the first episode of this situation comedy, Gabe hugs and kisses his family goodbye before he gets into a car and drives off to begin his new life as an indentured Bethel servant. So, does this show that low level Bethel servants are provided with parking spaces? I know Anthony Morris III had a Bethel parking space for his Cadillac, but Ant Mo III was once a member of the Governing Body. In this episode, it appears that Gabe didn't load everything he needed in his car before he left for Bethel. If Gabe's Bethel storage space is limited, maybe he can keep some of his extra stuff in his car.

I grew up Mormon, Mormonism and JW's have a lot in common when it comes to conversion tactics as well as just tactics to maintain followers. Missionaries are the obvious common factor with the two, sending people out door to door, sometimes in local areas or different countries. I'm currently the only one in my family that I'm aware of that left the religion I converted over to Atheistic-Satanism (weird conversion I know but a lot of people get Satanism wrong)

That's true, unless you're in the the temple of sept, satanism is focused of yourself and atheist in nature. People got it wrong because they don't know what it is. They read "satanism" and immediately think you're worshipping the devil. Anton Lavey dressed up with a red devil costume to be edgy as a publicity stunt. And it worked. The temple of seth are à different branch and they do believe the devil is a real entity. I'm not personally into that stuff, but I'm more inclined to believe in nature worshipping, like old European used to do, if I had to choose, that's what I would believe.

Laveyism satanism is just an hedonistic belief. People think it have to do with worship of the devil, when in reality, it doesn't involve religious beliefs at all. There's another branch that's called "temple of seth" which involve worship of an actual "devil" and that's where the confusion comes from. I'm not in any type of belief, but if I have to choose, I would believe the same stuff that my ancestors, the gauls and celts would have believed before the abrahamic religion usurped their beliefs. It has to do with nature, which we are a part of, seasons, solstice and equinoxes, which were important to these people as it was for their own survival. I can't relate to whatever iron age, middle eastern people who lived in the desert would belive. It's not my people, not the place I'm from either. I didn't realize before the significance of children being baptized as JWs. As an exmormon, I was baptized at 8. But we don't have the same systemic shunning that JWs do. My family might disapprove of me but at least they still talk to me. I can't imagine being completely cut off from your community for denouncing a decision you made as a small child.

I was a mormon too! I have an ex JW bestie, I'm in shock with how awful they could be to each other. She's completely cut off from her family.I mean sure, Mormons are culty but they're not going to destroy life after life.
