Hi Rod, another good video. I hate to spoil it but just 4 days ago I went there to pick up my daughter flying from Singapore. There is ONLY one car park with approximately 250 spaces for BOTH terminals to share or say 125 car spaces for each terminal. My wife and I wanted to arrive 90 minutes early so we could eat in a Terminal 2 Restaurant but the car park attendant told me ''you have arrived at the wrong time because now it's arrival times''. I told him ''this is a brand new world class terminal and all airports have arrivals and departures''. So we circled in and out of the car park for more than an hour when somebody told us to go and park in the Waterfront Hotel and just buy a coffee in their coffee shop. By this time it was too late to eat dinner. We couldn't contact my daughter as she didn't have a Philippines SIM card because she said they didn't even sell them for international arrivals. Finally we arrived at Terminal 2 and the security ''refused to let us in as we weren't passengers''. I told him ''but this is billed as a world class terminal -- you boast of your imported wood from Austria and your imported moss from Italy to keep the toilets smelling fresh but you have forgotten about customer service''. I told him I've never been to another airport in the world where people have to wait outside in the heat, snow or pollution with almost NO CHAIRS to sit down on''. I was physically tired after having to stand such a long time and nobody thought about giving a Senior their seat! I just can't understand why the designers, engineers etc didn't at least visit ONE overseas airport to see how things are done. My daughter said inside it looks lovely -- but of course it does as they have MADE IT LOVELY FOR THE STAFF but AS USUAL HAVE FORGOTTEN ABOUT THE PASSENGERS AND THEIR WAITING FAMILIES. So now we have to again revert to taking a taxi from Barangay Guadalupe. By the time I was home I needed 3 puffs on my asthma inhaler as I never dreamed in the ''World Class Resort Terminal'' I'd have to wait outside in the heat and POLLUTION. Such a shame and also such a disgrace that they just didn't care about us -- the waiting loved ones. There is tight security in USA, Europe and Australia because of Islamic Terrorism but those airports all allow you inside.

Thanks for sharing your experience John. There is a lot of construction ongoing and they have quite a ways to go yet but hopefully, they will get the customer, arriving/departing/picking up, amenities and service up to speed soon. I was surprised to see the big crowd outside the barricades waiting for arriving family.

@John O'Kane, typical, way behind the rest of the world where humans are concerned unfortunately. Been there done that John.

Amazing Philippines. Rod the way I understand it is that waiting loved ones will NEVER be allowed inside, even to eat in a restaurant but will just have to wait outside like at Terminal 1.

Hi Rod. All my life I only fly from the US to Manila international airport then connect to Bacolod city, negros occidental. I've been wanting to use Cebu International airport for a long time but never happen. I'm so glad you took this video, the airport is so big and very modern. Next time, I will definitely use Cebu airport. Thank you very much Rod and have a blessed Sunday.

Someone commented that PAL discontinued the direct Cebu/LA flights until they get "better" equipment/planes later this year. They expect more carriers and hopefully more competition with direct flights to the USA also soon Jane.
@janedudynsky50676 жыл бұрын
Amazing Philippines My problem I only use PAL because of my connecting to Bacolod city. I bring a lot when I go home, so if I'm allowed 100 lbs I use it, same with my husband. Domestic flight will cost me with the weight luggage, with PAL I don't get charge a single cent all the way from California to Negros occidental.

@3:00 Actually when you sit in there it's not hot at all. The roof is made of a 2-layer Texlon ETFE material manufactured by Vector Foiltec and is a green technology so I dunno why she's using an umbrella right there. Perhaps because its bright outside
@AmazingPhilippines16 жыл бұрын
We moved from that area to the more shaded area and it was a bit better in the shade. The translucent material does let in lots of light which is good Anjo.

Hi. Just wanna ask. Terminal 2 is how many minuets away from terminal 1? Is it difficult to reach if u have connecting flyt to travel on the both airport?
@AmazingPhilippines16 жыл бұрын
They are almost right next to each other but you cannot walk there as there is construction in the area at this time. There is a shuttle bus that runs back and forth quite frequently so you should have time to transfer Jerrah.

It would help if they would expand the bridges to get into Cebu. If you hit it at the wrong time it is a parking lot!
@AmazingPhilippines16 жыл бұрын
They have started building a new bridge from the South Road Properties near SM Seaside Mall over to Mactan and I believe a forth bridge is in the planning stage also a bit further north but it will take a couple years. The streets will also have to be upgraded to handle the new traffic Mike.

How to transfer from terminal 2 to domestic flights? Can u help me? I have a connecting flights
@AmazingPhilippines16 жыл бұрын
There is a shuttle bus outside of the terminals that leaves frequently to transfer between terminals. As the construction continues, there will probably be some sort of tram I suspect but that is in the future.

Hi, Good info, but for me change nothing, from France until now is more cheaper to fly Manilla and take domestic manilla Cebu than go Cebu directly. Marc
@AmazingPhilippines16 жыл бұрын
Direct flights from Cebu to Los Angeles were also higher priced. Hopefully, soon there will be more direct flights and lower costs also Marc.

Hi, Thanks for the info, this year i find a ticket Nice/Doha/Manilla for 33K by quasar (two way) 19 hours, and manilla cebu by Cebu pacific at 3k. After like say Rod, this opening new international airport will come with more offers too. Marc

i'd seen quite a number of videos of the new mactan airport, yours is showing the different, more "realistic" side (not glamorous, as many other videos) the bottomline: what's real and what's practical speaks the truth i prefer raw fotages, since i'm bombarded with highly edited ones can you feature "ocean fast ferries" -- one that connects cebu to mactan, vice-versa (for only 100 php) in the future, can you also feature camiguin via a ferry from bohol (not from cagayan de oro) for me, camiguin is one of the mystical & enchanting islands. its 7 volcanoes, hot and cold spring, waterfalls, sunken cemetery, sparkling white sandbar make camiguin an attractive destination i love hot springs! (it makes you lighter by 10 pounds after a short dip) who can forget camiguin's lanzones festival, every october (i think). camiguin's lanzones is the sweetest of all! no doubt about it. one of my favorite fruits! they said every branches and trunk is covered with the golden lanzones, esp. during fruiting season (from august to november)
@AmazingPhilippines16 жыл бұрын
American Expat in the Philippines KZbin channel is from Camiguin and does quite a few of those videos Benjie. It will be some time before I get over there but I hear it is a nice island.

Did you say there were only 10 mil. TOTAL passengers last year, and they are projecting 12 mil. INTNAT'L passengers for next year? Or did you mean to say there were 10 mil. INTNAT'L passengers last year? Am wondering if there will be direct flights from the U.S. to Cebu. Would prefer to avoid flying into Manila because of the airport security scams that have taken place there. I realize that has supposedly been dealt with for the moment, but it doesn't instill confidence in the integrity of the operation there.
@AmazingPhilippines16 жыл бұрын
Cebu Pacific does have direct flights to Los Angeles for the last year or so I think Barney. They are expected to add airlines and more direct flights to other nations with the new terminal. It will be a changing situation over time as demand increases. I am not entirely clear on the numbers though.
