Easily the best episode of the season so far. It gives hope that there might actually be a cohesive plan for the season moving forward. While yesss the new republic is absolutely insane for not seeing the signs that the empire and first order is rising.

Nah I think it's kind of wack they're trying to setup Bo Katan to be the savior of mandalore yet again. Her whole arc is essentially her fucking up TWICE to lead mandalore and then becoming washed after failing. I think her character at this point would be better served acting as a guiding/advising force for someone else to take the throne. You mentioned wanting to see the common man In star wars, but Bo Katan is anything but. Yea she's a woman, but she also comes from an ancient noble family and has already been in power. Din on the other hand was an orphaned foundling, a struggling bounty hunter, and most recently an unsuspecting "father " to Grogu. One of those two figures is the more compelling protagonist, and we all know who it is....

I agree. It's frustrating to watch Din get sidelined in his own show. I don't even dislike Bo-Katan, but I don't like the direction they're heading with her. Hopefully it's building up to a confrontation of some kind, but we'll see I guess. Also Armorer is super sus.

This is the most coherent and valid criticism against Bo I’ve read so far. You make really good points and honestly, I kinda agree with you. I guess I’ve been so starved for any form of protagonist this season I settled for Bo. 😅 I still think she’s cool, but you got me seeing things in a new perspective 🙌🏽

And that's not even accounting for the fact than Mando rightfully won the darksaber after defeating it's wielder in single combat. I could be misremembering, but doesn't the darksaber serve as a sort of "crown relic" to the mandalorian people? As in, doesn't whoever holds the darksaber have the rightful claim to the throne? Why wouldn't the dude who possesses the thing not already be calling the shots? Why does no one in Mando's covert seem to recognize this? Why would the showrunners even give Mando the sword if it's just gonna go right back to the person who lost it in the first place? So many questions. So few coherent answers. ***sigh**

@@pukas9901 Yeah they take very easy solutions to mandolorian lore problems, Din wear Dark Saber but nobody recognize him not even a sligh amount of leader role... In last episode the trick explanation solution was really easy too, "I lost dark saber and she saved me and won it back, so i give it back to the rightful owner", ok so why not give her back directly? To me the Droïd trapped Din and it was surely not a fair duel and the droïd never used the saber, i think Bo Katan was thinking the same. In the end i think it's quite fair Bo Katan got it but they always "play" with mandalorian rules lore. Armorer who doesn't care about mythosaur (she should have run directly to Mandalore i guess...) and change her mind about helmet removal. And what happens when Mandalore dies of natural cause??? lol. All this make me think that mandalorian rules/traditions are kind of fakes and you can always find a way with a good blabla reason, and then you say "this is the way" and that's all good. I'm also wondering how Bo Katan can have lose the Dark Saber to Moff Gideon when we see how incredible warrior she is. Moff Gideon is not a scary villain, he was like a shit when they attacked his cruiser, making him comeback as main antagonist would be an error to me.

The fifth episode has really gotten my hopes up and that clift hanger makes me wonder if someone like Elia Kane planted that there with the intention to stop the Mandalorian from interfering with imperial activities by turning the rebels against the Mandalorians

Another great video! I'd like to see you talk about the space battles/dogfighting scenes from the movies. I'm curious about how you feel about the Disney era space battles vs. the Lucas era. Also, that Carson Teva and rebel base was a great side plot that I continue to say, a Rogue Squadron series or movie like that would be amazing!

Thank you! If you’re referring to Kathleen Kennedy’s influence or Bob Iger’s shift from TV back to movies, I do think it’s possible they had a role in the poor writing for this season. I can’t say for sure since I don’t know the production timeline, but it definitely feels like some studio execs had heavy influence somewhere along the line.

@@caprisanh2845 Yeah, and as much as I love Grogu and his father-son relationship with Din I'd really hope that they have portrayed the passing of time being separated a little better. I was even hoping that it would happen here in S3 and not in BOBF. That could give Din a really good internal conflict in this season so that it'll have an emotional weight to it. Now their both like background characters instead of having observer shots in their POV. And about the pirates, your points are true as well. Adding a few more scenes with slow cinematography can show the dread and threat of the pirates. Balancing out this season would be good so they can do S4 better the previous seasons.

The main issue of this show for me is that it has no stakes, no character development of any kind. Nothing feels important, nothing has any kind of emotional impact on you as an audience or the characters themselves. Din and Grogu get separated -> they immediately reunite in BOBF, Din took off his helmet -> two episodes later he immediately gets redeemed, Din has a Darksaber and it's supposed to be a great opportunity to establish a conflict between him and Bo Katan -> in s3 Bo suddenly doesn't care about it, even saves his ass on mandalore and then he gives her Darksaber because of the lazy ass loophole they created on the spot. It's just a fucking mess.

The Mandalorian takes the codes from western movies. For me, season 3 is the For a Few Dollars More: even if Din Djarin is the main character, this season, he his Bo-Katan's sidekick, just like in For a Few Dollars More, were Clint Eastwood plays the main character, but the story isn't about him,

While watching these last 2 episodes, I came to the realization that Disney is just making this show for children. It has no intellectual depth. Some of the stuff is "Rad" (to use your term), but it's mostly just like you said: turn off your brain and try to enjoy the ride and ignore all the stupid. Here's hoping Ahsoka is more like Andor and less like the Mando, Boba Fett or Obi Wan children's shows.
