This is a remake of my once-popular Maximize crash test video from my first channel.
The video features 60 years of Volvo testing set to Rex The Dog's Maximize 2008 Mix, track.

I made this "compilation" almost seven years ago. It was a remake of another Maximize video that was lost when my first account went down. The first one I was really impressed with, but this one never really met my expectations of what I wanted it to be. I'm glad you liked it, I did put some effort into it.

I love my Volvo 240. Old but still good. Some of those crash tests are so random. The engineers were like, "Hey guys who is up for launching a Volvo off a dirt mound and a cliff today?" But they would be saying it in Swedish so it would sound cool.

I have a 2000 Volvo S40 and I got rear ended yesterday. The only damage that I'm aware of is a bit of a bent frame (only in the back where the impact was) some bumper damage and then the rear end got pushed in at least three inches and the trunk won't close. Yet despite all that it's still drivable. Anyways, I love Volvo's and now see why they're such good cars.

Notice the odd angle of the crash at 0:57. Volvo can do crashes at any angle, and at any angle when BOTH cars are moving. No one has a facility that can do crash-tests like that----only Volvo. And no one does real world safety like Volvo.

Fair enough, at least you can freely and willingly admit that. The rear of cars are designed to be a lot tougher as they should resist lower speed impacts and are designed to crush at higher speeds 50mph ish. This is to minimise damage to the car, but the seats are able to absorb the shock, unlike a frontal or side collision where at any speed (above about 10) the car will properly start to crumple, as it needs to absorb the energy of the crash and prolong the crash to avoid injuring occupants.

I doubt they can stand against lorries, it depends on the lorrie's front and rear bumper. Those bumpers have to be mounted low so that the car hits it with the reinforced structer instead of underriding it (in that case the car's roof rip open). european lorries are ready for this low bars to prevent cars underriding it. But american lorries (and alot of theyr suv's) are still in the years 1920 with theyr open sides and high mounted rear bar.

Damn important work! These new 00-15 cars are a lot safer than the predecessors. Much thanks to crumble zones and the integrety of the structure. I have own a 10+ Volvos, best so far have been the S80 & S60. BUT Volvo HAFT TO get their gearboxes together! Valvebody is shit in the aw55-51. Same to the ETM body. Other than those 2 standard faults, great cars!

As I said, the majority of cars in the majority of rear end collisions show results that the car from behind has a crushed front end, but the rear of the car it hits is undamaged, or maybe with a scratch at best.

That is called crash lab!! Nice to see they do also real life crashes outdoors!! Keep on doing the good work!! way better as Mercedes or BMW on protection of the driver and occupants. Mercedes and bmw has a terrible weakness, if you hit it 20% of the front with they crumble like cardboard killing the driver the crumble pillars are mounted about 30 to 35 % of the front with. So they score good at Euro Ncap 40% but are likely to kill you in a real life crash
