This is the story of Doog's new Minecraft speedrun world record. In this incredible run, he beat Minecraft Any% 1.16+ RSG in just 8:15. I don't know how you would go about this, but I would really like to see a dedicated video to all of the top runners, especially those who have have not or didn't get a wr. A lot of people in communities like this get completely forgotten for their acomplishments and it is really unfortunate. Another great idea that came to my mind while watching this would be to make videos on up and coming runners. This could give you more videos to make and build the hype for us that are not deeply intertwined in the speedrunning community.

Not quite I don't think, it was a solid couple of minutes higher less than a year ago. It'll be a long time before we reach the level of second barriers that exist in like, classic games or racing games. FSG has shown that close to 5m is possible with enough luck.

I’m so proud of Doogile. I started watching him late 2020, and his bridging skills were mind-blowing. He kept breaking record after record, striving to be miles in front of everybody. I’m so happy he got into speedrunning, even though it was a little out of the blue, and I’m not surprised he beat the world record. Huge kudos to Doogile.

there is one video idea that i think would be interesting, which is how likely a perfect run is. so throughout the video you'd go over everything a runner needs to go in their favor like getting a buried treasure within spawn chunks and getting a good loot in it and finding a nearby bastion in the nether getting all the pearls going 6/6 on blaze rods and so on whilst covering the odds of each thing happening to answer the question of how likely a perfect run is

This was an amazing run!! Big GGs to doog 🎉 As for a video I’d like to see: how about a documentary on how 1.16 RSG strats changed and were developed over time? I think it fits nice with you crediting the people that doog credits too. From the early ‘just mine gold and find stray pigs’ to T_Wagz’s and k4’s bastion videos and the different routes like the Ninjabrain route or manhunt route, Matthew Bolan’s one cycle video, the elusive zero cycle that no WR has done yet, who developed mapless treasure, etc. I think that video would go a long way in showing appreciation for the community as well as introduce more casual mcsr viewers to what the runners are doing and why. It’s almost like a “what videos you need to speedrun” kind of thing

The best thing about this run is that it’s finally modern. Sagi’s run was meta, but BT is much more used and reliable, this seed wasn’t as linear, etc. Plus it comes along with good splits, even though Doog doesn’t reset strictly for sub 4 forts that’s what you want for a top time.

I found out about the record when checking the FWR by M8use and then I checked Java because I was bored and I was shocked that Sagi’s was beaten by 20 seconds and with the new world record there is one question that plagues a bunch of us-is a sub eight minute run possible?

Easily possible Crookst and Feinberg have both had ~ 6:30 end enters, which is a sub 8 a decent percentage of the time. Crookst didn't have enough wood with him to one cycle, (except in rare cases) and I don't remember the run well enough to know if he could have gotten more without losing more than 5-10 seconds. But Feinberg's run had everything he needed. The dragon just didn't perch. It could happen tomorrow. It could also turn out like the sub-10 was, where after Brentilda's world record there must have been a couple dozen potential WRs that didn't work out before Cube finally broke it.
