I've been speedrunning since 2020, and I think it's great that more developers are designing games with speedrunners in mind. That said, I personally think it takes a bit of the magic away when the devs are changing their game's route on the fly to make the speedrun faster. The specific games I run are Celeste, Portal, and Neon White, with some Karlson, a sprinkle of Clustertruck, and recently a little Ultrakill. I bring this up because they have no RNG at all, so I know that when my times get faster, I'm the one who got better, and I don't think I'd feel the same way if the developers were always making shortcuts. Not to say that the OU! devs should stop, or that the WR contenders aren't skilled, they are, I just felt like sharing. That said, kudos to everyone who runs Only Up!! These strats are nuts, and the risk involved makes it that much more impressive!

RadishRavier got a new record of 12m 29s in this category 4 days ago. A runner who is either 1st or 2nd in every category that he touched in, Only Up! However, he did not get a perfect landing and lost about 20 seconds because of that. The time was made up in ways I don't understand, I just looked at the leaderboard and skipped to the end.

The game is pretty rigged, if you fall down you character gets automatically pushed away from platforms to hinder you from landing on them so you'll fall further.
