Now since I’m wanting to upgrade my armory and expand the Weatherby collection from a vintage Deluxe V in .30-06 & a Backcountry ti in 6.5RPM to include the new 307 Range in the 7mm and I’ve been getting the itch to build a semi custom rifle. The Weatherby builders action has me excited to bad the action I want is back ordered. It’s the 223 action. Wanting a companion bolt action rifle to my ar15 chambered in .22ARC. What would be a real topper is if I could convince the boys at Weatherby to sell me the Range stock along with the builders action. Then I would have probably the best pair of rifles available.

Is the bottom metal a standard inlet (M5). Would be nice to have standardization to bottom metal to all the option of stock upgrades in the future.

I wish this model came with a 1 inch removeable spacer for smaller shooters like myself and others. Or is this model lop on the low side 12.5 where its adjusable to for shortest LOP. Because 13.5 just isnt short enough for smaller shooters. My Tikka compact with vertical grip fits perfect at 12.5 inches

I'm the same and have several Tikka compact stocks on my rifles. At least allowing 13" LOP would be nice for times when you're wearing bulky jackets. For what it's worth - the Backfire store has recoil pads made for the Tikka compact stock and they fit and work really well.

What’s the difference between this and the original? Looks like some cosmetic changes to the stock only?

@ yes gun is the same, new chambering, new paint job, the skip fluted barrel does not heat up as quickly which will allow for more consecutive and accurate shots at the range. Just for 100 dollars more.

@@cadeclark the earlier model was spiral fluted. Is skip fluting better than spiral fluting?

Is the stock more rigid on this? I have been wanting to buy the original for some time, but read nothing but complaints of the stock being flimsy. Bought a couple Springfield waypoints instead because of this

My 307 meateater is a tackdriver. It's not an aluminum chassis but it's not anything I've been concerned about

@ if you were to load a bipod, would the forend make contact with the barrel?
