Bolo. The ratchet feature is going to be way easier then note repeat. Note repeat is great for basic patterns but I still find myself going in on the touch screen and nudging events because of timing. So ratchet will make saucy hi hats much easier to achieve.

@@davidsteffens3952 you can't. and it takes way too long to move the slider to find the time signature you want. its not like note repeat where theres dedicated buttons for 1/16th etc, you have to highlight the ones you want to rachet on the grid editor , turn that into one long note and slowly slide the slider until you get the rate you want. maybe with a stylus , mouse or something it would be cool

I like the key group update. I looks so much easier . Man I can’t believe you don’t care for the ratchet feature. I agree using the work flow of how it is now, but having that ratchet is huge bonus . Especially when it comes to editing on the timeline.

I can kinda see use for the ratchet feature. Maybe if I'm going through an old beat I could play with it to change up the hi hats but I definitely agree it's much easier and faster to just use note repeat

Boloooo 😂 great video Champ 👍🏾 Akai added the new key group feature from the Akai Force which is much needed on the MPC. On the Force, you just hold down shift + edit and then hit the pad and it creates a new keygroup track. I tried to figure out how to do it on my X but I couldn’t. Now this update makes it happen.

I was very hoping for a mode where you can put one note samples into Legato mode and I was hoping for changing the FX rack order and a strumming fx on chord progressions mode or an visual dynamic EQ but I am hype for that update. Please i heard that there can be some bugs and you should do like backup before you go to this update. Well didn't did nothing special so far, but if, how i do an backup? Like move everything into the external SSD memory card, or connect it to pc and copy files there? Well - i am not using that much connected to computer yet. Or is there any certain way how you actually do an backup officially? From what i heard, there is possibility that you can lose even the built in sounds, so is that really possible? Wondering if I should grab the Akai Force many say that it does everything the Live 2 does but a lot better, except the sweet paint options, speaker and portability. The force is cool but you definitely need a external drumkit cuz those drum button look small af for my thick fingers

The biggest issue with the MPC's for me mostly, is that the plugin sound quality, and the stock sound effects are just not dynamically there for my liking most of the time. They are usable, but not the best. I don't know why Akai didn't focus more on putting some really quality sound effects that are exciting into this unit, because producers like me want to able to go to those, and not have to use effects from other unit's or the computer. This is why it's called a stand-alone unit, because we want to be able to only use it, and nothing else. Mix, master and engineer it all in stand alone mode. At least for me, that's very important. If they even sounded like FL Studio's reverb, delay and the limiter's, it wouldn't be so bad. The reverb just sounds weird to me. I'm not saying that they are horrible, it's just that I can't seem to find or get what I am looking for too easy. I spend way too much time on the effects, so this is why I look for quality drums and sounds. Would anyone refer any plugins, expansions or drum kits that are really quality for this? I would like to hear your opinion's...SBN RESONATE

I just became a first time MPC user this week. Bought the X. The sound quality of the Akai plug-ins sounds great to me. I’m coming from Maschine. Been using it since 2013. The MPC sound has so much weight and warmth to it. My Native Instruments drums sound way bigger and better in the MPC. I don’t think NI plug-ins sound better than the MPC stock plugins.

Can they fix the constant crashing software? I can’t even make music without it crashing ever minuet, I gotta save my project ever 3 seconds if I’d doesn’t crash before that! Loading a blank project crashes my software, pressing the stop button twice crashes my software, loading a single sample on a blank project then hitting the pad crashes my software mind you I’m on big sur M1 and it’s been happening since 2.10 even still happens with 2.11 you say it’s compatible but I can’t even use the software it would be a miracle like walking on water if I got through a single project without it crashing 5 at least times, been through about 200 -500 crashes I’m sure so far I lost count . What is the issue?? what is causing this ??

Been a Maschine user for a decade. Now I have added the MPC X to the arsenal. I don’t think Maschine workflow is far ahead it’s just different. They each have pros and cons. I’m faster on Maschine because of ten years of experience with it. I haven’t even programmed any drums on the MPC yet! But once I get familiar with it I’ll be just as efficient as I am with Maschine. And with a better sound. I have to do several things to Maschine to get it to sound the way the MPC does naturally.

All these updates from Akai. I've never seen one video from one producer that completed just one song. With a complete "song" i mean an intro, verse, chorus, bridge, vocals etc. on a mpc. Is it possible? Yes it is, but to get there is "growing pains". I am about to get serato studio because of the simplicity. It's an enhanced ableton workflow. That's what i need. So Akai i'm sorry, i might consider to get an Akai force when you release a daw software for this machine in the future.

Akai makes you excitement for a moment with all that new gear and plugins and stuff, but ones you found out that you didn't make one complete song after a few months. I mean intro, verse, chorus, vocals and so on, the disappointment is growing and growing, because the workflow got you going in circles. You wasted a lot of your hard earned money, a lot of time and know you trying to find a new parent for your ugly baby. Na, bro. Akai will never give you that kind of freedom.
