@binarysun_2 жыл бұрын
@@doctorauxiliary the MPC hardware is awesome and the features are exceptional. The X is still my daily driver and the centerpiece of everything (see some of the jams I put on YT for example) but it just sucks that with every update it’s like „oh wow these features are so awesome“ when after installing the update stuff likely does not work. I usually don’t need every single feature so I don’t mind every bug. But things that just stop working after an update and then they are not fixed at all just gets me to WTF hard. Or you get a heavily advertised feature the lot of the MPC crowd waited for and then it just does not work as advertised. I love MPCs and me being angry is me seeing an outstanding device and seeing that it’s not getting the love it deserves. Especially since I am a dev myself. Funny thing is that I would still recommend MPCs to people 😅 … for lack of better alternatives in that segment mostly.

Dope video as always! You have the best YT series on using the MPC. The new Flavor plugin looks like its an extension of the effect in Mellotron. Akai gives great updates. This one is no exception. The granular, key ranges & probability functions are what Im diggin most. The whole customize view thing is cool but doesnt peak my interest yet. Maybe that will be different upon release. I REALLY wish Akai would work on how Splice sounds don’t work too well or more functionalities like moving & deleting files.

I can't wait for this release! I'm especially excited for individual ratcheting. I just started using the current implementation of ratcheting a lot and this will really speed up my workflow in that aspect. Don't judge me, but it took me longer than I'm willing to admit to realize that I could do most of what I was aiming for with drums by using note repeat and latching... before that, I was doing it all by hand. I'm more of an exploratory learner, which means I miss things sometimes haha

Favorite is turning samples into key mode as a Maschine user also this is major! 2nd would be the new efx … major assumption for my 3rd is an update to the menu layout. Can’t wait to get my hands on it. This update will be key in me finally switching back to MPC from Maschine. I really want to make the change fully because they cater to our community. Besides expansion packs NI seems to not gaf!
@MrMarcLaflamme2 жыл бұрын
I bought Maschine 1 back when it was released (2009?) and sold it maybe 5 years ago after it was collecting dust for about 5 years before that because NI didn't seem very invested in the platform and thought it was a better move to push packs. I'm a bit disappointed to see that even now (and after they released their standalone Maschine) that this still seems to be the case.

You could always do that on the MPC. It's just more automated now. All its doing is creating a new key group and auto-assigning the sample to that group. It's been a Force feature for a while.

Coming from an Elektron background, I’m mostly interested in the new probability feature. Is it just percentages or can you also schedule when specific notes play? Like x note plays every 3 out of 4 loops?
@__cal292 жыл бұрын
My guess and from what I saw on the video is it’s just %’s, not any of the other Elektron trig conditions

The new probability function is based off of percentages. It’s not ratio based retriggering like Elektron. There’s more MPC generative tools like random events (midi notes), humanize, split events, double speed & half speed event, and other things. I’ll rehash the video. Thanks for the suggestion

I just learned MPC stands for 'Marginal Propensity to Consume'... Ironically 2 months after buying a One & 2 weeks after buying an X. :P These plug-ins are dangerously great. Not tried the new 'For Sale' ones yet. There's easily enough to be going on with the 8 in it. The MPC 2 Software is equally fantastic and pretty much turns a half decent tablet into a turbo mpc! Can't see me ever using a different format or DAW again. Just need to teach my Qcon the UI with midi learn now, probably.

Keyzones must be a really cool feature. Probability is also cool, but would be great if it could be applied not only to "Mute/unmute", but to other parameters, just like pitch or smth like that. I also wish if they finally add master-track automation feature, but not in 2.11 I guess
