The female vocalist sounds great, but is richer for contrasting the male singer. The sax part is great for being organic and not a synth, and inflating the song further when vocals sing on top of it. And the drums are drums, not overplayed or too straight. I know you are thinking your part as a drummer. Finally, the electric guitar is that unexpected thing, like putting maple syrup on your bacon. My only criticism is lyrical- yelling Pilate too soon? And right before that line, the contraction of syllables at “...movies all of his friends” - this line drives me nuts. I would have preferred a different line altogether. I mean, it’s certainly imaginative and unique, lyrically, but that kinda distracts me more than stimulates me (intellectually). This is my personal favorite song of 2024. Thank you to the band for another great song. Keep doing what you do!! I’m sorry this live mix isn’t top-notch, as the sax is not loud enough and the drums lack the studio polish that make them sound cinematic rather than how they sound like they’re in an airy basement here. I don’t even know what to say about the bass guitar because I wasn’t there, and my phone does no justice to bass anything. Thank you for this simple video. I love this song to death! Edit: Holy crap! Of course I can’t not say how the bass guitar riff totally makes the song. I am willingly to bet the genesis of this song is based entirely off this driving bass guitar riff. In my mind, to my ears, it functions as an anchor, the meat and bones of the song. I also forgot to mention that I really love the male vocalist harmony at what I would call the “diminished chorus part.” Nobody is greater than the sum. I hear U2 and RHCP and maybe R.E.M. or some other balanced-band musicianship. I think the Ramones did this, too. Perhaps Toto, too. We the Kingdom are an excellent example, too. You guys gel. Styx, Twisted Sister, Motley Crue, - they all have a band member that seems to dominate the whole. I hope this doesn’t happen here. Well, my compliment to you, TNP, is that if it does, it doesn’t show.
