The New RC4WD TF2 Scottsdale gets a makeover

Three days after delivery I was able to put my touch on the new RC4WD Scottsdale shortbed Chevy. Bench seat from Shrink RC, custom paint and some Treal Hobby SCX10.2 Driveshafts start the project off right.
Hand made bug shield really hits the mark. May have to make some GTS headlight covers and bed rail caps to really bring back the late 80’s look.

Nice Mod job, i also am not a fan of keeping an rtr rig stock, eveyone has one, i want this rig, i am going to wait and see if it comes as a kit soon. or at least the unpainted body kit.

Beautiful truck looks so 1:1 old SKOOL !! Did you paint over the existing blue paint or sand it and primer? I would be afraid to attempt it lol…. I don’t know why RC4WD didn’t put the bench seats in it along with the Blazer body’s ? I wonder why they put the bucket seats in it? They are suppose to be king of scale and still never get it right…….

I sanded and painted over the blue but just in the stripe and roof.

Did you remove the passenger and driver side windows? Hard to tell in the video. If so, any tips there? Truck looks great!

I did remove them. Japanese back pull saw made it an easy task.

Looks awesome! Glad to see the driveshafts in correctly - the heavy ends are closest to the transmission and not on the axles where the shafts bounce the most. What wheels are those? You said “Monster.” Is that the manufacturer or the style?

Hey dude! I’m a new subscriber. I’m about to purchase the TF-2 Scottsdale. I’m wondering if I can get a better battery with more run time and more power overall. Do you have any suggestions other than stock stuff? Budget is kinda limited but I can squeeze a few dollars for better stuff. I can’t comprehend battery charging and esc and charger lingo.

Grab a 3S 2200mah lipo and a decent charger. Helios RC is the way to go in my experience
