I've just recently become a hearing aid user and have opted for the ReSound Omnia 9. I can say they have improved my hearing experience immensely, especially when listening to conversations in challenging environments. This has resulted in my feeling a part of group conversations and social interactions. I can with hand on heart say if you can afford it go for these hearing aids it will be a game changer. The more I learn about these Aids, I've only had mine 6 weeks, the more I'm impressed by them and look forward to how they can and will adapt in my future hearing needs. Your video has been a great teaching aid to my understanding of these aids and will help me with my audiologist in future visits in asking the right questions to get the best out of the Omnia aids. Thank you, and keep up the good work and videos. Cheers Johm

@HearingTracker Hey, ya. Just picked them up today. Very amazing. Getting them dialed in was also amazing looking at the level of technology. Watching her calibrate it in the computer screen was very cool. Got the app on my cell phone. It was very fast & easy. Learning the basics took about 20 minutes. Maintaining them is easy too. The features on the charging box were great. The hearing aids themselves are amazing. I have a lot of control over them and can select options. I heard my turn signal for the first time in 25 years. Lol The next 2 weeks will be learning time. The VA will be sending me supplies regularly for the hearing aids. I will be able to get support right there in the office. All in all, I'm very grateful that I can hear much better.

Thank you for this most informative review of the ReSound Omnia. I am 77 years old with moderate to severe hearing loss above 3,000Hz. I currently have the Linx3D 961 aids and am looking at obtaining newer technology. I am retired and only rarely in an extremely noisy environment, as (since covid) I don't often eat inside restaurants (we do dine outside) and I don't travel by plane, so coping with an airport environment isn't relevant for me. I am assessing used/refurbished models and am trying to decide if the (961) ONE would work as satisfactorily for me as a (961) Omnia. I can't seem to find as thorough a review of the ONE among for KZbin videos, so I'd greatly appreciate it if you could provide me with your impression regarding how much of a disadvantage I would encounter by purchasing the ONE aids (as a stunningly low price). Thanks!

I am trialling a rechargeable version of these aids. When they are paired with the app, they are the best aids I have ever experienced. The restaurant setting is particularly impressive. However, I am experiencing horrendous connectivity issues, losing contact with the app several times, almost daily. Having to “forget” and reset is not as simple as it should be. I hope the battery version “61” I am hoping to get does not have this connectivity problem.

Thanks for your reply. I have now got the “61” battery model. They are outstanding and there are no connectivity problems at all so far. These are easily the best hearing aids I have had in over 10 years and ReSound are a make I honestly would not have otherwise considered.

I've got the Resound One 61 Rechargeable and have had the same connectivity issue with my Samsung S10+ (no problems with previous aids - like my LiNX Quattro). Just a couple weeks ago I got a software update to my phone (Android 12) and since then I've not had a single connectivity issue . . . FINALLY! Also, I've got the M&RIE, which works great without feedback as long as I'm using the proper domes. Apparently, because the Resound One receivers are more powerful than that of the Quattro and a wider frequency range, everything sounds so much crisper and truer, which I love for my music listening. Wish I had the Omnia for situations like in a restaurant, but the Multi-Mic does pretty well there.

Than you for the detailed review. When you review the app features (if you haven't already done so), please consider focusing on what can and cant be done with the remote, as many people, like both my parents, dont use a smart phone, so the app is worthless to them for now. Also, i assume that the mini-remote mic accessory can be plugged in to USB and 3.5mm 24-7 to be used at the TV instead of the TV accessory? How many sets of hearing aids does the TV accessory work with simultaneously (unlimited or at least two sets)?

Hi Mathew, I just got fitted for Resound Omnia 9 with M&RIE receiver. My audiologist is loathed to try anything but a closed dome because of the likelihood of feedback at high freq. At 500Hz I'm less that 20dB loss but quite a steady slope down past 2K to around 60dB loss at 8K, so all the amplification is at higher frequencies. The occlusion I get however is not really tolerable. Coupled with the noise reduction capabilities of the Omnia and it often feels like Im just walking around with my fingers in my ears and worse when I speak. I tend to wear the dome deeper in my canal which alleviates some of the occlusion but this can become uncomfortable and sore. My audiologist would certainly prefer that I wear the dome a little looser and not so deep which can exacerbate the occlusion. I play acoustic guitar and record music whilst singing along so 'hearing' more of my natural voice would be better but I'm conscious of losing true harmonics with hearing aid set up. Have you experimented with a more open dome style to get a solution which lessens the occlusion to a more tolerable level but doesn't cause too much feedback? I know that the Resound TrueFit SW recommends the closed dome for my script but some venting must surely be possible. I don't want to move away from the M&RIE receiver either as its ability to help with identifying spacial queues and the direction a sound is coming from is really good. However Im told that as the mic is in the ear vented domes are a sure fire way to induce feedback.

I’m due new hearing aids in October. I’m currently using ReSound One. The problem is the Audiologist I see doesn’t have the ability to do “real ear measurements” or remote adjustments. Both these features were a big selling point for me. I have severe hearing loss and need the best facilities and best audiologist possible. How can I find where the best place to go for the best services available in my area. Please help me locate a good place before October rolls around. I would be open to trying the newest version as long as I get proper care. I have tolerated the set I have now for almost 3 years thinking my provider could adjust them. I need some help or should I just go to where I know I get good service but have to drive a long way to get there.

The best way to hear music production is that the tracks are mixed in the studio for your ears. This is impossible though. I did an audio engineering course, and I am about to get my first set of hearing aids, so I don’t expect music to sound great, even though I can adjust the bass, mids and highs via an app on my phone.

Im about to get the new Omnia 9. I recently bought a new soundbar complete with Dolby Atmos. I have never had hearing aids before. With the 360 deg feature and the assessment of the soundscape what listening experience should I expect when wearing the Omnia 9 devices? Without hearing aids I found that turning up the centre speaker helped me to hear voices better and there is also a soundbar app which can adjust for better voice and speech sound. Im hoping that with the new Omnia 9 I will be able to listen to my Dolby Atmos system and hear the surround sound like I would without hearing aids, i.e. a fully immersive experience including directional sounds to match the action on screen.

Nice video. I always wondered why all hearing aids are limited to 8kHz top frequency? I am a professional music composer and in my studio, I just need to boost +10dB ALL the upper frequencies from 1.5kHz up. I understand that most old folks over 60 like me are deft starting a 8kHz but I really think boosting ALL the upper frequencies would be better for me. Also, why don't hearing aids companies give us the ability to just adjust the frequencies just like I do in my Studio? It could be done with an app (Android) That way, I don't need a professional to take care of my hearing handicap for me since I can do it in my studio using EQs.

Dr. Cliff, I enjoy your channel and subscribe to your channel. Regarding dB gain vs wind noise you.mentioned, 3dB gain is 100% gain to shield against wind noise. 6 dB is not 200%, but 400%, thus Resound claim of over 150% is accurate.

I am demoing a set of Omnia 9s right now. I've had them for over a week. They are betting than my first set ... basic level Starkeys. My continual complaint on ALL of the hearing aids I've had in my ears is that I cannot trust the sound that the hearing aid is putting into my ear: It is altered to an unnatural state. With the Omni 9s, I found that if I put them into the noise canceling mode, the sound coming into my ears was much less obnoxiously altered. I am a musician, live sound engineer and a recording technician. I need to be able to trust what I am hearing or I will not be able produce a good mix. Still undecided on what hearing aid I will purchase ... if any. If they do not improve my hearing dramatically, I won't wear them ... and if I don't wear them, I will not buy them.

We have had aids for several years - the most recent purchase was a Resound about 4 years ago. Two questions: 1. The Multi-mic and Mini-mic have several problems: short battery life, drops about 20 feet away and must be repaired and drops for no apparent reason. Has there been an upgrade during the past 2 years (the last time they went back to Resound for repairs)? 2. Can we get access to the audiologist setup software? In the past, audiologists have "abandoned" us after the warranty expires. And, more important, as we move among audiologists, the new audiologist starts from the beginning, erasing all setup from previous audiologists. Thank you!
