@Jordan-0692 I have owned 3 Harleys in the past. I like Indian. But I have realised that I am missing out a lot as there are far better motorcyles out there. I now ride a Triumph T120 and a GS. Planning to swap the GS for a Norden 901. I still don't hate on Harley. I love the jokes. But jokes aside, Harleys (and also some indians) don't deserve those price tags. Let's be real, if you want a performance HD that runs, turns, stops and screams, you need to go north of 50-60k$. Absurd money! Stock, they are donkeys.
@thefuturetom9 ай бұрын
@@Moto_Adventures_Romania wonder when the last time is you've ridden a Harley? Their new Nightster at $12k has almost every reviewer thinking "wow okay...this speed I did not expect", and the Pan America is way better than it has any right to be and sits at $20k. These "run, turn, stop, and scream". Only issue is the old-school Harley boys complain they aren't "true Harleys" if that matters to people. That being said, this Scout 101 is making me consider trading in my current bike as the price, features, and looks are borderline what I'd be willing to spend, or can wait a year for newly used around $15

@@thefuturetom The Nightster is just not working for me, It may be the left side of the bike, it may be the radiator, it may be the lack of atention to detail, I still don't know. Indian actually listened and implemented the things people wanted with the scouts. Cruise control, traction control, rider modes and the tech are great especially for riders that like the extra safety layers. The better suspension on most minus the bobber. The exhaust looks good too imo the 2 into 1. I really want one now. Price is still up there but they actually look like they give a hoot about what their bike looks like. The new nightzter was a mess, wires and garbage just everywhere, what was harley thinking and the price was outrageous. The nightzter would've been OK if they priced it at $8k or 9 maybe but good grief $15k for that mess. These actually look deserving of their price more than the harley bikes.

HD's only answer to the Scout now is performance. Ironic really. That being said, if performance is really your thing in this segment, you're undoubtedly going to pick the Rebel 1100, Diavel, Brutale or Rocket III, depending on where you are on the power craving meter. HD truly did themselves a disservice by once again not understanding what the customer wants. Selling an ugly plastic bike with performance is putting them in the Japanese wheel house. A place no Sportster has any business being in, and no hope of being succesful. Nobody looking at a Duke 890, or MT09 SP is going to give a sportster S the time of day.
@Anton_G_6049 ай бұрын

The Scout (2015 - 2024) make 100hp and weigh 550lbs. The new Scout (2025+) makes 111hp and weighs the same. The Scout is an absolute missile, and for good reason; because it is Indian re-branding the Victory Octane, which was a tire shredding muscle bike. Other than cosmetic changes, mechanically identical to the Scout. The Diavel is a different type of bike for a completely different audience, as is the Brutale, and the Rocket III weighs 800 pounds. The Scout is the performance king among cruisers. Has been for 9 years.

In my opinion these new Scouts look really good and are a big step up from the previous gen but I think the Harley's still compete or beat these new bikes in a few ways. For one, Nightsters had a big price drop for '24 such that now a base Nightster is nearly the same price as a Scout Bobber Sixty w/ABS (and the Nightster offers much more for that price). This also means that these new Scouts are considerably more expensive than comparable Nightsters. A Bobber limited is $1700 more than the base Nightster and the Bobber limited +tech is $1700 more than a Nightster Special. Yeah you are getting an even bigger engine but the Scouts weight at least 60lbs more so performance will only be marginally better than a Nightster...we'll see about ride and handling but the Nightster is significantly better than the old Scouts and will likely still be better. I do agree the overall appearance is nicer on the Scouts. I think the Nightster has a good profile and the proportions are good but fit/finish/details are a step down from the Scouts. For the top of the range I think the Sportster S wins vs the Scout 101. Personally I think the Sportster S looks cooler (and like nothing else in the market really). From a performance standpoint the HD 1250 simply crushes the Scout 1250 (and weights 50lbs less). Overall though these new bikes do look really cool and I'm anxious to test them out. I hope they do well for Indian and in doing so force HD to continue to develop the Rev Max platform.

@Different Spokes TV: Thank you for this video! I agree, in my perception Indian nailed it with the new Scouts. 5 different models right off the bat, all of them very desirable the gorgeous 101 at the top. Another bad news for HD (at least in the EU market) is the R12 from BMW. At first I percepted the R12 a bit like a Grandpa's R nineT, but that perception has changed completely. The new R12 platform seems to be promising. What we already know is that we'll see a R 12 GS. But this time a "serious" GS in contrast to its predecessor. The RevMax platform is in its 4th year now. Neither have we seen any significant improvements on the existing models nor any new models. Pan Am sales in the EU never were convincing and dropped 70% in 2023 compared to 2022. I've not seen a Nightster on the road yet, no joke. The Sportster S did very good in the first year. Everyone thought of it as a great one off fan service on the RevMax platform. The most important model was the Bronx. Like no brainer. It's really kind of bizarre, even the 3 LifeWires do a better job than the RevMaxes.

Yeah I dont understand. I daily ride a beautiful bike. New it is more powerful, lighter, has a better lean angle, and cost thousands less with better brakes and better tech just as a final kick to the groin. Can someone less than 40 explain to me why anyone would choose this over a naked bike like my Kawi Z900?
@tacosan92569 ай бұрын
It’s how they feel, my wife’s Kawai is faster and can corner but…it just doesn’t feel like my Chief, they rumble, and the torque is something to be had- I just like motorcycle in general but a steel diesel truck on 2 wheels is fantastic for cruising anywhere
@joeln68619 ай бұрын
It's just personal taste, the feel, and for some, nostalgia. I agree with you (and I'm in my 50's) that I would never buy an Indian or HD cruiser. If I had to get a big bagger, I'd pay MUCH less for a Kawa Vaquero, or even a gold wing (granted gold wing doesn't compare to these scouts, but you get the point).

Also Z900 has a power to weight ratio of about 1:3.52 after modified. Makes the argument more difficult. That's equivalent to a Mustang GT making 1,062 wheel horsepower. And the Z900 will run much longer than any owner will ever keep it.

I’m 26 and choose to ride a scout over a sport bike because of the sense of Americana, cultural nostalgia, and overall enjoyment of the ride I partake in every time I get on and leave my driveway. I don’t have an interest in going 180 MPH weaving through traffic or paying money to use a local race track. I make the country roads and byways my journey. Many people think that performance, lean angle, and ludicrous speed is the key to enjoyment on a motorcycle and that’s fine, but for me it’s the enjoyment of being in the wind cruising on a bike the rest of the world aside from America deems a one trick pony. Sure my bike may be just that, a bike that’s greatest ability is to go fast in a straight line, but our country is one of the biggest in the world and there’s so much room out in the countryside to do just that. The countries your motorcycle and many like it are manufactured and produced are very small in comparison and that is why (in my opinion) they are designed to go around curves that may be more common in a crowded environment such as European or Asian countries. I’m not saying your bike isn’t meant to be ridden in America, all I’m saying is that it’s more suited to drive around in crowded places, or a racetrack. Cruisers are the just another example of why America is different than the rest of the world, and I embrace that difference. I hope this helps, peace. ✌️

One of the reasons why people never branch out and try new experiences: "don’t have an interest in going 180 MPH weaving through traffic or paying money to use a local race track." Has nothing whatsoever to do with modern naked sports bikes.

I just can't get into water-cooled motorcycles, no matter what the brand. To me, they just don't look or sound good. Performance might be their strength, but that just doesn't rank all that highly for me. Much prefer the looks, sound, and feel of air/oil cooled bikes and will stubbornly stay with them to the end - mine or theirs. My ride is a sportster 1200 and I love her and I don't look at anyone else. Not even tempted, thank you.

Yeah, I miss my old 1200. In a few years I might get one of the air cooled Chiefs.

I'll never understand why cruisers command such a price premium. It's laughable that the Scout 101 costs more than a Speed Triple RS, despite making only 111 hp.

Yeah personally I prefer the old Scout over the new Sportster. Hope they make a new version of the Scout 60 because I'd rather have a low price than a super powerful engine

Not to mention the cost of insurance. In my area, a bike over 1000cc costs over 3 times as much to insure, than a bike under 1000cc. That’s why I think the Nightster Special is the best of both worlds

Love the looks but a fuel tank under 5 gal puts it in the urban city bike category which makes it great in the looks department but useless at least for my consideration.

If you're touring you'll stop more often than you'd like. But you can still get 160-200km out of a tank.

The 101 looks Amazing, it'll blow that Ugly Nightster out of the water. H-D needs to bring back the XLCR with the 1250 Engine. And if the Bronx comes back, use the 1250 Engine as well, Polaris just up'ed the Game !!

Harley has lost its direction. They need to get more bikers on the board of directors if they want to make a positive course correction.
