Regarding the Seiko chrono: I actually like the date window between the 3 and 4 o'clock positions. That way it doesn't impinge upon or eliminate a lume pip. I won't be buying any more watches that lack a date window, but I 100% agree with you that the windows should be made more inconspicuous by matching the dial color.

I picked up my Seiko Speedtimer yesterday and it is lovely. Apparently the dealer (UK) had lots of enquiries from Germany in particular, so maybe demand has been high.

G100 is a copy of a 9000 series miyota but with some minor changes with parts and scale. Evidently, it is a direct drop in replacement to the eta2824.

Brilliant video once again...I agree with you on all fronts...the speedrimer date window is just something that really bothers me, the colour for sure should match the dial, however, it should also be central to the 4 & 5 surely? The Breitling is really nice, but the price is way too steep, and the story is just not needed...the jungian is my pick from these releases, its stunning! Simple,elegant..would be even better to have an italic font for the date window to match the logo but hey, it's still OK...the movement is great and the fact they have added and customised it makes it even better rather than just shove an off the shelf movement into it...brave jungian...bravo! 😊 great video, great work and it's a pleasure at the end of every week

Yes Universal Geneve is something to get excited about. I love many of their vintage watches of the past. My only worry is that Breitling will make models that look great and have all the things us watch enthusiasts want but will price them as high or higher that Rolex. Does anyone else think this will be the case?

The Breitling SuperOcean 57 Heritage was also available in the original men’s size (42mm). Black or blue in steel and the same with a gold bezel I think. £4300 a while ago for the steel, which is already a lot. I just checked and £5000 for these new ones is a bit hefty. The black men’s size version is quite elegant though and does not try to look like a Submariner, which is great and was their intention back in the day.

Couldn’t agree more about the date on the seiko speedtimer. I just wish they’d release one with the date covered, ghost date be damned!! The dial color choice here and the orange accents look awesome, but that what date window kills it. Same problem with the PRX chronos

The Junghans looks like the Hamilton American Classic watches, but they have the benefit of the date at six and no seconds hand, which makes the Hamilton a veritable dress watch, The Seiko is cute, but isn't the hype for sky blue dials over?

I have to disagree on the speedtimer date wheel. I own the ice blue version and the date window is tiny on these watches. Had they made the background blue, same as the dial color, it would be impossible to read. Black on white is perfect for legibility in this case.

What has always ruined this version of the Speedtimer is that the middle complication is smaller than the rest. All three complications are the same size and symmetrical on the 41 mm version.

"I don't know why watches need to be inspired by something" Thank you. Some of the obviously retroactive inspiration marketing has just gotten out of hand. Everybody's copying Grand Seiko's homework, and they've got some of the most cringeworthy examples of this.

Nothing I'd wear this week and a few of them are downright ugly. I picked up a Timefactors Smiths Trans-global recently, an homage to the Universal Genève Polerouter. It will be interesting to see of UG brings that model back.

Totally agree with the stupid practice from Seiko. That goes for Grand Seiko as well. These practices really put me off these 2 brands recently.... It might come back to bite them in the near future.....

Crikey what are the designers of these watches smoking these days !!. The Zenith is tacky looking and it looks more like an Airport Duty Free special !!. Junghans....Yip no date required, nice enough dress watch spoiled. Brietling omg !!. Its all bezel with four Aspirins glued under the 3 6 9 and 12 indices, shocking absolutely shocking and deserves to bomb . The Seiko is decent enough but I wish they would just drop the date complication. Chronograph dials are busy enough as it is and having the date complication just throws everything out of whack. Nicely presented video as always.

I'd go one step further and suggest that the date window on the Speedtimer be eliminated altogether. Seiko insists on ruining their typically gorgeous dials with a date window somewhere--this trend needs to stop. If a person doesn't know what the date is, there are any number of calendar options to remedy this.

Agree. I wish more brands would give up on day completely, and date on all watches at 6 o'clock, NOT 3 or 4. Can't say I ever not know what day it is 😅. Even better, no day/date! A lot of dials are busy enough already without extra clutter.

The Breitlings are hideous -I think 'Baroness' Mone will like them (and hey, she is Scottish:). The Seiko is fine - the all brushed look (from the top) is much better than the Omega Speedmaster 57 whose polished lugs 'outshout' the bezel and ruin an otherwise perfect design. And the date window is not such a big crime on a busy chrono dial in my book, while it does indeed stick out unpleasantly on the Junghans.
