I agree with the comments about the edits. Specifically, one thing that I think takes away from the quality of the video is when there's text that just says verbatim random things that cheese says (it would be more okay if it were particularly funny things or things that sound funny out of context) and when the text just "commentates" random things that cheese does irl (e.g. "sips water," "reads chat," etc.). I do have to agree on this one that the editing style could use a bit of change; the idea of innovating your videos is fantastic don't get me wrong!! however I don't think this is the right way, the sound clips were very very loud, and the edits were a little too frequent and unannounced for my interest; keep it up though cheese, still here to support :D

yeah, not completely on board with the over-editing here. it's clear your editor is talented as fuck but by the halfway point i was just like "please STOP already, i get it". i really hope they get compensation for this because it's clear a lot of effort was put in

It's not Cheese's fault at all, but this video is literally unwatchable. There are certain channels where the editor can include their own humor and personality, but this is not that kind of channel at all and it feels extremely tone deaf considering Cheese's audience consists of people who are interested in speedrunning a game that's 26 years old. I can't think of a single game from the n64 where this editing would be appropriate for speedrunning videos.

i don't wanna dog pile, but i agree with most everyone else. editing is a bit much this time. my main issue is the loud interjecting sounds and the weird distracting clip art popping in and out at random times. i get what the graphics are trying to show us but most of, if not all viewers can kinda already get the point across of what's about to happen without a shiny distracting flashing png pointing into the death pit with danger signs everywhere and noise loudly proclaiming it. it especially feels like someone's powerpoint presentation using a sound for most of their stuff. i'm fine with minimal editing and also lots of editing, but only when they are done right. cut out a lot of the weird clip art and use less sounds, this video would be good. the clip art stuff feels as if it undermines the viewer as if we didn't already get the point of the joke or don't already see the impending danger cheese leaps into. the editor DOES know the right times to zoom in on something on screen to show what cheese is reading or focused on which helps even the newer viewers so i give credit to them for that. and also the bit at 6:20 is also a nice touch i'll say. a nice little infographic that shows what cheese was talking about what happened so the viewer can follow along his thought process is nice as well. anytime cheese has to explain something or whatever, i'd say this could be a handy spot to edit in what he's refering to at the moment. for future edits, i'd say tone the sounds down and use less graphics. i wouldn't mind the incorporation of using any random mario 64 sounds to otherwise bleep any censors necessary.

I'm gonna echo other comments here, some of the memey edits here were pretty intrusive, but what actually bothered me was how loud some effects were, it almost felt like faulty mixing rather than actually intentional, some sound effects are twice as loud as everything else and almost painful when they happen. Still appreciate you trying new things out! Also, not all edits were bad, i thought the text stuff was nice, and the cuts/camera zooms/focuses were good c:

Yeah I'll chime in with everyone else: New editor, it's cool you're trying some new things, but chill it back a few notches please. The pacing of the video was good, the meme edits not so much. The pointing arrows were annoying and the sound effects corny and loud. A couple maybe per video would be fine, not a couple per minute. (Especially since it was only 12 minutes, they came way too thick and fast... a longer video would be nice too) The edit with the visuals explaining the camera flip in HMC was good, but the frame walk one felt a little unnecessary. The "fail compliation" right after felt a little mean spirited towards cheese. Also, the 2 Bosses thing was Mr. Eye and Big Boo, cheese did not think the piano was a boss. Remember, you're the editor, not the main character. Looking forwards to your future videos, even if this one kinda fell flat.

I think trying to incorporate more interesting editing is a great idea, but this ain't it, chief. The editing should enhance what's already on the screen (e.g. 5:38, zoom in on coins), instead of being the focus of the video for no reason and making their own joke that might not even fit (e.g. 5:25, 2? with a sound effect that bursts your eardrums).

I'm glad I wasn't the only one annoyed with the editing. It feels like all the click baity, "watch til the end", pandering to the lowest common denominator type of editing you see on Til Tok. This type of stuff is one of the main reasons I don't have the platform. I don't need my hand held while watching a video, and it feels annoying to have it done to me. Sorry editor, but this video was a swing and a miss. I think this editing works for a different type of audience, but based on the backlash in the comments, this isn't the audience it's for.

I think most of the edits are fine especially the text but the messing around with the sound effects and the 'scary' lighting effects were a bit too much for me. If you scaled those back I think it would just be a nice unique editing style
