The best part about watching Jerry shoot, is that he learns. He doesn't act like he knows everything about every gun, he shows that every gun is different and no matter your skill level, there's always somethign to learn.

I picked up the Equalizer a few days ago along with a Holosun HS407K-X2 6 MOA optic. Fits flush and perfect. I also have an Olight Valkyrie light mounted on the pic rail. If you take a look at the bottom of the magazine, you'll notice it says Shield Plus. The Plus magazines are compatible with the Equalizer. I have tried a few of my old holsters from my EZ 9 with the Equalizer and here's what works: -The Vedder IWB EZ holster works perfectly for the Equalizer, but there is no cutout for an optic. -The Crucial Concealment EZ IWB holster works and had a cutout for an optic -The Tuxton Tactical EZ IWB holster works well and has an optic cutout AND can fit the firearm with an Olight Valkyrie light. -Adding the Xecutive Holster by N8 Tactical to the list. Has a cutout for optics, is lightweight, and actually fits and conceals better than the others. This is now my go to holster when I EDC the Equalizer.

This particular gun is NOT right for Jerry, but I suspect some of us mortals might like it. I did not buy an EZ 9, but had thought seriously about them when they came out. Picked up an Equalizer a couple weeks ago, I totally love it. So darn accurate it’s uncanny. Extremely fun to shoot as well. I love that Smith and Wesson have increased the EZ line. I love shooting but have developed arthritis in my off hand so racking the slide on my regular pistols has become more difficult. I picked up the .22 M&P Series 2.0 EZ and loved it so much. When they came out with the .380 EZ it was a no-brainer to get that too. It's my only .380. Most of my regular pistols are Ruger, which I have really liked. But, due to the arthritis, was very open to S&W EZ semi-autos. My first semi was a SD9 VE pistol so I have some history with the company. It's good to feel like I'm able to rack the slide easily again. So I expect I'll be picking up the 9 soon. Thanks Smith and Wesson!

Smith & Wesson needs to make all of their 9 mm pistols have large enough ejection ports so that you can interchange different caliber barrels and magazines. That's why I bought my original Smith & Wesson M&P in 40 S&W, so I could change out the barrel and use it as a 9mm or a 357 Sig. This modularity is very useful and helpful (at this point you might as well sell all M&P's with Optics ready cuts in the slide and threaded barrels on everything in addition to installing APEX triggers ). Also I noticed the new fully metal Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 no longer has the detent in the way of the slide stop/release (is about time if you ask me, that slide stop detent was nothing but trouble).

I would like S&W to have interchangeable frames and slides, and offer a competition variant for more 25m precision, so a small frame and at least a 5inch target barrel adjustable sights. On this one the separate breach face may give it the possibility to have different caliber sets with different mags face and barrel/recoil spring, but the same frame and slide, from 30SC via .380 9mm and 40SW? Maybe even a .32 ACP?

I'd like to hear a gun designer/engineer explore this idea. I would think that the .32 ACP would lack the power to effectively and reliably move a 5in slide built to withstand .40 S&W wear and tear, but I am no expert. It also seems like this is the same design philosophy as the Sig P250 and P320.
@dmg4415
@dmg4415 Жыл бұрын
@@Iwillfigureoutanamelater The .32 ACP was probably a bridge to far, but this could be a simple blowback, and a very weak recoil spring. But this is a WISH, the HK4 had this but was a .22 .32 .380 and one more, but I cannot remember at this moment, but all was Blowback.

The breach face, as a FFL, I had a customer bring back a S&W once that shot only a magazine or so through it and due to the hardening process of the "U" independent breach face, it snapped the "U" wings right off that sucker. He brought in the actual snapped of parts. I wish they would of kept it standard. The only thing I don't like about this is the grip safety - it feels clunky in the hand and doesn't give a really great grip. Otherwise, great pistol.

In 30 SC, it would have 12+1, 16+1, or 18+1. Good to know about the single action trigger.

Yeah they've really stepped up their game the last couple years. The M&P 2.0 has become my favorite handgun. So smooth to shoot and very accurate.

I love how Jerry is shooting a pistol while carrying a separate pistol in a holster. It just shows how he’s not just a competitive shooter, but also a full time self defender.

I’ve had an Equalizer since they came out, and I don’t think I’m in any danger of “overpowering” it!

Mr. Jerry. Great to see you out shooting. First time with the gun in your hand shooting 17 splits. I see a Father / Daughter : Equalizer vs Sig 365 xl compensator competition video in the near future. Keep plugging and wishing ya'll the best,

Amazing! S&W made a gun that looks, operates and shoots like a 30 year old Glock. I bet their engineers got a huge bonus for working overtime...

Glocks dont have a hammer dummy..........
@jegr3398
@jegr3398 Жыл бұрын
It's nothing like a Glock, first of all it's a single action hammer fired gun which is completely different than a striker fired gun, secondly glock didn't have a thin pistol with a similar capacity until they released the 43x, that definitely wasn't 30 years ago, third, glock didn't have a factory optics ready pistol until recently, definitely not 30 years ago.
