They can't make a f/1.2 lens beyond 58mm without atrocious vignetting in the corners due to the 46mm throat of E-Mount. Nikon's F-Mount had the same flaw with their 44mm throat, and since 1959 could never make a f/1.2 lens beyond 58mm. Whereas Canon's 55mm EF mount was able to handle a 200mm f/1.8 and 85mm f/1.2 easily. Once Nikon moved to a 55mm Z-Mount they were immediately able to release a 58mm f/0.95 & 85mm f/1.2 Z lens. Sony is lying to everyone on the Press Call about the reason why they elected to build a f/1.4 lens instead of a f/1.2.

I really don't think that it is neccesary tot buy the new GM If you own the Sigma 85 unless you need more than 15 fps. The Sigma is a fantastic lens.

I agree. I have the Sigma 85 and to me it's better than both 85 1.8 and GM I 1.4. and don't see the need to upgraded to GM II. Unless you're flushed with cash like that

I haven’t been a Nikon main photographer since about 2018 sadly. If they let us record video to both cards it would be nice
