I have just purchased the zx4 mk2 irons 5 to pw. Courses have been closed so not hit them yet. Impiulse buy when I visited the pro shop to look at Wilson irons. Sale item at £699 with graphite shafts and multi-compound grips. As usual with golf the next best thing is always just around the corner. Zxi4 looks like it will be an improvement on the previous model based on your review. I’ll just have to accept that I got a bargain because the new version was about to launch. Thank you Mark for all that you do in the KZbin golf world. Exceptional.

Hope you've been swinging on the range or sim while the courses have been closed. 5 years ago, i got fitted for a set of irons that were not right for me. Like you (possibly), due to weather, I don't play from October to March. I went in for a fitting (in February) after not swinging a club for 3-4 months because PXG had a huge sale going on. My swing was.... well.... very rusty... and was fitted for a "game improvement" iron set. When I started playing again regularly, I realized the set was not correct for my "real" swing. It's fun to start the golf season with new clubs..... but way better to be fitted for and playing with clubs appropriate for our game. Never again will I make that mistake again. Hopefully you did not make the same mistake I did.

Been playing Srixon for years and find myself upgrading every 2 year cycle. This year will be my first blended set. ZXi5 4 and 5 iron and ZXi7 6-PW. I haven't played a 4 iron in years. Pure impulse and looking forward to gaming these. As for some of the comments regarding price, Srixon in my opinion offers the largest customization than any other brand. For that reason, they are very reasonably priced. Their shaft options is off the charts for minimal upcharge. I am a bit nervous playing blended, but seems to be the trend.

I'm in the zx4's 5-PW for two seasons now, got them for a good deal. Bought them off the rack with graphite shafts. had to add a little lead tape to get the swing weight right. Really solid clubs. The 5 iron is so effortless. Previous set was some very old Clevelend CG4's. Major improvement between the two.

I have been using Zxi7’s 6-P with a Zxi4 5 iron since November, and they replaced my old Bridgestone CB 221’s. I also used a set of ZX5 Mk2’s up until the middle of last year. The ZXi7’s are just a cut above, even though the lofts are weaker than the ZX5, they both go pretty similar distances for me. But the feel on the ZXi7 is light years ahead of the ZX5 mk2. I’m a 20 handicap with a porous short game but lots of range time.

The Srixon irons still represent good value when compared to the big brands (Titleist, TM, Callaway). Still a top quality product. The latest Titleist irons go for $329 AUD per club, and the Srixons are $269 AUD per club. Across a set with wedges this is hundreds of dollars less. I’m keen to squeeze a few more years out of my 718 AP2s but a blended set of Srixons is high on my list to try. I’m thinking a 4 iron in the i4, 5-7 iron in the i5 and 8-PW in the i7. Love how seamless it is to blend all 3 models.

@Station2Station-du2gh7 күн бұрын
As someone who played ZX7 last year (coming from MP221 blades the year prior) and was interested in the zxi7, the OFFSET continues to be a problem (my miss is overcooking a draw). The ZXi7 have more offset than the P7CB, P7MC, T100, Cobra King, Mizuno S-3, PING BP-S, Apex CB, etc... I weakened my zx7 mkII 1° mid-season last year to get some of that offset out of my visual - but they went higher than I would have preferred due to mass being extremely low in the head. I was hoping for two things with the ZXi series - MORE spin, and less offset. We got neither (and in fact there is more offset in the zxi7 6, 5, 4 than last year). Also, many reviews stating they launch higher than the last mkII model. This math doesn't work for me and I'm not changing shafts. Grrrr.

I was told that the new ZXi irons have wider soles across the board for all three models compared to the ZX mkii irons. Can you confirm that this is the case? The dimension charts even show that the new ZXi7 has a wider sole (18.9mm for 7i) than the ZX5 mkii (17.6mm for 7i). This seems odd to me so hopefully you can shed some light on this.

I was fitted into the Mark II’s just as they ran out of stock, so am waiting for these to be available to buy. I’m going z-forged in the PW-8iron, zxi7 in the 7-5iron, and zxi5 in the 4 iron. PW @ 46*, then 4* gapping. I found the zx5 launched slightly higher and spun slightly more than the zx7 (with matched lofts), hence the 4i in the zx5 (to squeeze an extra couple of yards). Do you think the zxi’s are the same in this regard?

I’m a sweeper as well. I have been playing the ZX5s for one season. Got them for a great price when the MKII were released. For me, the V Sole is a panacea! Unlike most claims from club OEMs re their “new tech”, the V Sole makes a significant difference. It gives me the necessary swing confidence to go for the pin.
