I remember when this was first coming out. It was announced all over Nintendo Power and had so many different articles going through the history of Mario and describing NSMB’s gameplay. So many high quality pictures too; we couldn’t wait. The graphics were SUCH a huge step up from the original SMB. Can’t believe how pixelated it looks now.

Man when i got this game on my birthday as a 9 year old, i was the happiest kid i ever was man!! There’s been this surge of nostalgic Mario things in my recommendations and i gladly welcome all of them! Such memories. As derivative as this game is in every other department, I'm surprised at the amount of effort that went into the music. Koji Kondo and his co-composers didn't just remake old tracks and called it a day. They gave this game and series its own identity by giving it a sound you don't hear anywhere else.
