The New Supra is One Ultimate Driving Machine

I'm a big fan of the Supra and I was initially annoyed by Toyota's approach in recreating such an icon of a car. After understanding that it was either this or nothing, I figured I might as well put my judgements to the side and see what the fuss is all about. Once again, I'm happy to be wrong.

Glad you enjoyed it. I use cheap suction cup mounts for the interior and the official GoPro mount for the exterior camera since it's rated for 150MPH. For my intro and pan shots of the car I use a Geekoto tripod, it was like $50 but very worth it for an entry level tripod. Hope that helps!

Hopefully Toyota was able to sprinkle some of their reliability magic on the build, but I couldn't find anything specific about their involvement in the build process. But as you said, I'd rather it exist than have nothing at all.

Toyota reverse engineered the b58 back in 2017 on so it met the toyota overengineered specs i.e. closed deck design.

That could be up for question since this seems to be all BMW components. I've read that Toyota had their hands in the build and emphasized reliability while utilizing Bmw's performance. I don't buy it really, especially when you consider you need to remove the engine to change the timing chain. Still, incredible to drive, let's just see what happens with these as far as maintenance down the line.

Still not sure how I feel about the new Supra. Should have been more than it currently is with more power (especially more than its fraternal twin, the BMW Z4), and wish they had created a unique interior for it instead of literally lifting the interior directly from the BMW. I also know they’ve since come out with a more powerful version, but for the price it should still be more car IMO. The looks are polarizing and not what I was expecting or hoping for, though it has grown on me after seeing a couple in person..... The upside is that it’s a capable car for the track, is easy to modify, and is a very usable daily sports car. Just wish they did more with it from the start. Another great video, and a really nice guy you filmed this with. 💪👍

Consider this. The Z4 came out with more power but the supra is faster. The toyota package is better for performance and left a lot for the tuners to upgrade. Supras are never going to stay stock. They have a huge aftermarket support

Brajtek brotek! Sweet as hell this ride is. I'm telling you it was whisper quiet, dead giveaway that's it's a full BMW. I explained to Hector how to use the launch control, he'll be ghosting cars on 287 for the foreseeable future. Love the new I The Fire songs by the way, shit is tight!

it's not just the Z4 chassis, while visiting florida, I saw a z4 sitting next to a supra, and i realized they even have the same structural body panel seams, everything but the fake door vent, which is an exterior panel anyway. It's incredibly cool regardless, and compared to the pricy Z4, it's awesome.

Who cares if it's not the Supra we wanted! It's a great car! Getting a little tired of this oh it's a BMW nonsense! This is a nice car? Of course it's a nice car. I don't own one but I appreciate the work it took to get it here. I can afford one and I'm happy for the people who have bought them.

Considering it wouldn't exist at all otherwise, I'm very happy with how it turned out. As you see from the video, you smile like an idiot every time you hit the gas, that's a success story in my opinion.

Good luck finding a used one, maybe the 2021 models will make the 2020's go down in price a bit. And it's funny you say that about working out, I fell off for 6 months, but I'm just getting back into it. You know you're screwed when 45lb weights makes your chest sore for a week, but gotta restart somewhere. Get that pump in on your end bro!
