hold on, so that very same 424 WHP WRX of yours that you reviewed earlier is dead because of the map sensor was not calibrated, and the knock sensor was disabled? you mentioned that the 424WHP was at 20 psi, so are you saying that the map sensor was reading 20 psi while in fact it was 37 psi? if that was the case then that power number was only attainable on that 37 psi not 20 psi. Also during all this time you were boosting at this very high level not recognizing the many knock events happing because of not being able to monitor it as the sensor had been disabled, correct? you need to elaborate on this technical subject since you are a very technical guy.

While I'm super technical, I'm not extremely well versed in all things motor related. Having said that, it's been a while. I got screwed by the tuner who effectively disabled the knock sensor since he pretty much turned it to explode. Long story short, I sold it at a total loss to a friend. He put a new short block and a 6spd from a legacy spec.b, tracked it for a bit and then sold it back to me. So now I have a fully functional, properly tuned WRX. The gentlemen who made me whole could answer these questions is serious detail, but I cannot. And to be honest, if I had that knowledge, I would have just done the work myself.

@@Altek1 thanks for the reply, I'm asking all this so that I can take an allrounder idea as I'm currently working on a similar project, so I hope you don't mind me sounding so blatant about it. Did your friend tell you what happened to your motor before putting a new short block? Also I'd highly appreciate it if you could answer my other comments in the other videos, I truly care about every single question.
@aquapisces242 күн бұрын
what year model is this WRX? what engine? is it direct injection? is this 424 WHP on pump gas? what octane grade? what specifically FP Blue is it? what camshafts? also in the description it says GS DP and Invidia DP??? thanks
@aquapisces242 күн бұрын
the video does not match the title. you talk about everything but only a few words on the FP Blue. which Blue? there's a couple of Blue editions? how much WHP do you put with it? etc, etc. Also what specific Blouch did you use to have? it's crazy how other youtubers are so painfully talkative while others on the contrary barely mention any important info.

I had an 09 Passion. I flipped it in the rain one day, coming around a curve that had gravel washing out of a driveway. The car did a complete roll, landing on the driver's door. This car did exactly what it was designed to do, protect the occupants. I bought another. Best money I ever spent, take this thing on trips every where.

i genuinely wonder why in most of the areas in the world, cars like these, without being considered powerful, but rather sufficient power, in america they always (every car review i get this) say: it's slow, underpowerd... and not only that, the us versions of many cars are with a bigger engine than the ones in europe, this accent in the rest of the world comes with a 1.4 105 hp, in the usa it is a 1.6 1xx hp, chevy cruze for example is a 1.6 113 hp in the rest of the world, in the us it is a 1.8 140. in europe we get the opel insignia (buick regal) with the 1.8 you guys have in the cruze. so this is like a trend i'm noticing. also when speaking about 0-60 times, for us a time of 10 and under, is slow ! for me slow is strating from 10 seconds and above, the other time i saw a review of a car doing 7 sec he said " it's kinda slow"... i mean, what, you drive cars that does 3 seconds 0 - 60 in america ? and it's not like we don't have fast cars, or me personally i didn't get in fast cars, so i don't think it's cultural, i mean it's the same experience and we are both humans, why do i feel like a car of 7 seconds without being a rocket of course, i would never call that "Slow", and you guys think it's slow. like slow in comparison to what a plane ? a rocket ? an m3 ? a model s plaid ? an s1000rr ? a suzuki v-strom 250 ? a 70' honda cb250 ? a go kart ? an electric scooter ? a car that does 7 seconds, for what it is (as everything else i cited) isn't what i would call slow.

What an awesome dude, and crazy build. I've seen other K-swap Coopers, but nothing like this, and done custom rather than a dedicated swap kit. How he's not doing this as a profession is crazy, but I get it. Sometimes doing what you love as a career can corrupt the things that made you feel that way to begin with. Much respect to the builder Ricky, for doing what he does, and to the Altek people for the work involved in making and sharing this video. This was first shared 3 years ago, so now I'm going spelunking down whatever rabbit hole there may be to see what happed with Ricky's projects since this one.

I don't know why this guy didn't just buy a real JDM Acura Integra if he really wanted one that badly. There are car importers that you can pay to help you bring one here legally and I'm sure it would have been cheaper and much less time-consuming to do that not to mention it would be a real JDM car which would be a better car as well since Honda only sold their best versions of their cars in Japan only. He could have still modified it to his liking and saved himself the unnecessary trouble of having to do any home welding that most people might be concerned with. He would have definitely saved lots of money and got the real thing. I would have spent the money he could have saved on buying really cool aftermarket parts from Japan that they don't sell here in the US which would have really made that car more special out here. Integras have a ton of potential to be really fun track cars especially when they are paired with a properly built engine. They handle fantastic for a front wheel drive car once you do a little work to the suspension. It's a very buttery smooth experience that only a Honda can give you. You can end up spending a lot of money on these cars with the amount of aftermarket parts available for them. My first car was a 1978 Honda Civic and I only owned Hondas till I bought my 2010 Lexus IS F. I'm a Toyota man now but I have to say that I do miss owning a Honda now and then. So I'm looking for an older Honda now to take my time to rebuild now that I have finished my last project car, a 1990 Mazda Miata which is also a very fun car to drive for the price and I understand now why Miatas are the most raced car in the world. They were really made for the driving enthusiasts of the world. There is so much you can do with those cars and there is a huge amount of support for people looking to build their first car. I think my next build is going to be an Acura Integra. The last one I owned I bought new in 1988 and I loved that car at the time and would have still owned it if I wasn't Tboned 2 years after I purchased it. As much as I would love to have a 1988 model still. I have to go for a newer version with Vtec in it. Acuras only got better every year they came out so a mid-year model is what I'm looking to build. I don't want anything completely modified. I want to keep it looking simple and clean like your friend Mario did his. I just won't be doing any JDM conversion like him because right-hand drive cars are not fun to drive for me not to mention they sell for less money here in the US and I do want to get my money back out of that car if I'm going to sell it someday. I live in California so I can't go too crazy with it if I want it to be street-legal as well. It really sucks that California has the most stringent laws on car modifications in the country. But it also has the largest amount of car enthusiasts in the country as well. I don't ever have to worry about any of my cars getting rusty ever as it's usually 80 degrees and clear outside 340 days of the year. Traffic here sucks really bad if you are forced to drive in the morning traffic hours as well as the evening traffic of people trying to get home from work. But it's not bad at all if you can avoid driving those hours which I always do. I like this guy's channel. I will subscribe because I'm curious to see his take on all the cars he does his reviews on. they seem really legit compared to many of the bigger auto-related channels on KZbin. So don't get too big and turn your channel into something scripted and your channel will probably grow larger over time.

Technological improvements like sound deadening and suspension make an older car feel like it is absolutely going to fall apart on the highway compared to a newer car. There is no mechanical reason that the car should not be able to keep up with an 80 mph traffic flow. When you drive it 80 mph. It feels like you are going 120 mph because of sound within the cabin and vibration. These are fixable issues. You can put your foot into it.
