Hello ! 1. I want to ask a simple thing: If our server doesn' make any API call, does TUYA support this feature: When the status of the device changes locally using user's finger or action is there any way that the device informs automatically our server with any socket based or other realtime tool ? It is really old school or stupid to force the server ask for the status all the time using their API calls. 2. Can TUYA return multiple device status in one API call ? Imagine hundred different devices setup, if our server wants the latest status of these devices he shouldn't make 100 separate API calls, TUYA should give the ability to ask for the status of multiple (100+ ?) amount of devices. If the above 2 features are not supported yet then TUYA developers MUST build it ASAP please ! Thanks !

Hey Mark, nice video. I installed Tuya v2 1.5 and added my Zemismart curtains motors easily following your instructions. My goal is to be cloudless, so I'm looking forward to the local feature - hoping it will also be cloudless although my expectation is that they will provide local control, but will still require the cloud. It will be interesting to see if the tuya devices will operate in local control when cloud access is shut off. Your comment on a question below stating we will need to keep our developer accounts active to continue to use the tuya v2 local control feature reinforces this perspective. Is that how you see it working - local but not necessarily cloudless? I'm also wondering how local tuya will stop working when they deprecate tuya v1. I get that local tuya uses the old api, but if local tuya is both local and cloudless (which I thought it was), how could it stop working when tuya v1 is deprecated?
@MarkWattTech3 жыл бұрын
Hey Andy. Glad you got them added and working! For now with the Tuya v2 in beta you will need the dev account. Im not sure if this will be the case when v2 is actually merged into HA, or if Tuya will somehow automate this process to make it simpler for users. E.g you just sign into the integration and it does all the backend setup. I can't see non technical users going in and creating a dev account etc. I guess we will see in the coming weeks and months if/when local control is added. I think localcontrol will require you to still register devices against the cloud, but you will be able to use a local key (Kind of like how local tuya does) to controlthe device. This will mean you could block the device from the network (like local tuya) and control it without it talking to the outside world. So device provisioning with Tuya, but then local control (if that makes sense). That's just my thoughts anyway. Nothing has officially been said in terms of how it might operate. Local Tuya uses the old api which wont be contactable when it's dropped. The new v2 integration has different security so you wont be able to add devices the same way. Any current added devices in local tuya I think will continue to work (if you have them blocked from the outside). Sorry for the wordy answer! Hope it makes sense.

For anyone still struggling with an invalid authentication, I had to use the account that started with gg-*************** for it to work. I think its because I originally set up my smartlife app by linking it to my Google account. You can if the account by going to the Device List and copying the account at the top of the list including the "gg-" at the beginning of the numbers.

Should have added, as this only works with project post-June, I had to create a new project on Tuya IOT

Hey Sean. Yeah sorry about that. It’s because I cut that section from the video. Ive done so many dev account setups and adding the app to the cloud projects, that I just didn’t want to do it again. I even had it written down to mention it, but still forgot 🤦🏻♂️.

When did you create your project? (Projects pre June wont work) And have you linked the app in your developed account? :)

I am waiting for local access. Please let us know when it is ready. Tell your Tuya friend they have done a great job 👏 on the other hand the Home Assistant users are waiting for #local. Once ready - it will boost tuya sales tremendously 🔮💰

I will be doing update videos on this (maybe in a similar style) to keep the HA community up to date with what the devz are doing :)

It could be interesting update for those like me keep receiving Log in error, even after double checking all log in details are correct. I tried instead of xxxx@gmail.com log in with AA-BBBBB (A - country code without + and B - my phone number registered in Tuya/Smart Life account) in and all rest details were the same. And I got logged in successfully with all devices shown up. Otherwise I tried 100's times to log in without any joy.

For some reason, my v2 will not show in the integrations! i have installed it manually and also used hacs with no joy :(
@MarkWattTech3 жыл бұрын
Have you tried clearing your browser cache? :) if not clear your cache and it should appear. Failing that, wait till tomorrows update where the new integration is going to become part if HA core officially (and be installable directly through HA integrations - no HACS needed)
@alistairecook46063 жыл бұрын
@@MarkWattTech I tried the cache still didn’t install :( I will wait for the update tomorrow. Any idea what the minimum version for HA is going to be? I might need to update it as I’m running Augusts release
@MarkWattTech3 жыл бұрын
@@alistairecook4606 good question. Im imaging it will need to be the latest as its an update to Core that adds in the new integration.
