Closed face reels are my favorite. Able to cast far, no birdnesting and none of the BS from a normal spin caster.

In the video you notice that he opens the cover. The way he opens the cover is actually wrong. If you read the instructions that came with the reel, it reads, do not open without pushing the button to release the line. I have noticed a few people talking about linebreaks with this reel. That is most likely the reason as they are damaging the pick ups.

Thanks for the insight on how to correctly open the reel cover.

I don’t use spincasters anymore because they are not so smooth, but I got to say that is a upgrade of what I used to use

Every once it a while, I'll cast and it will snap up short. Ive got 10 lb sufix siege on both of mine. I have 2 of the bullet reels, 1 on a 6'6" GX2 medium heavy, and the other on a 7'6" GX2 medium light. They bith do this occasional snap short cast. This is just an occassional thing. But im doing good to get a 35-40 yard casting distance. Maybe i need to change rods? Anyways, my zebco 33 platinums (Ive got 2 of those also) will cast just as far. 1 is on a 5' ugly stik light action, and the other is on a 6' GX2 medium. Im about to unsuscribe from the whole small hole on the cover increasing casting distance thing. I do wish Zebco would coat the pick pin cover with something super abrasion resistant so i could use braid and also put those fancy roller pins on the Platinum. That would be about the best reel on the planet at that point. Just my humble opinion. And I wish they would make a micro 33 platinum. I really like my micro 33 gold but those 2 more bearings make a huge difference.

I have never seen any for sale. You probably have to contact Zebco Fishing to get a spare spool.

how is it holding up...can you do a video with you catching fishing with it?
@bradwiegmann20467 жыл бұрын
It's holding up good. I have even used it fishing a Whooper Plopper. If I get a chance I will shoot another one with the #quantum Bullet.

No follow up to how it's holding up? This is literally 1 of 2 video's posted from someone who has actually used this reel that's not a corporate video and the other is complaining about how it doesn't cast half of the time. how smooth is the retrieve on these, anywhere near the level of a baitcaster?

I just posted a follow up videokzbin.info/www/bejne/rHLcZIKfr7hmapI on the Zebco Bullet.
I’ve never understood why guys want to use those stupid open face spinner reels or the bait caster reels with all the bird nesting and other problems. Not to mention them being hard to learn to use which can discourage a youngster or even an adult to want to go fishing. With a spin caster reel, you rarely have nesting issues or any other issue for that matter. Now, the only problem with the newer spin casters is the inability to use braided line due to the softer aluminum pickup plate. The braided line cuts into the softer metal especially while reeling in a catch. The older spin casters had a harder steel pickup plate and didn’t have this issue. The new Zebco Bullet spin caster has fixed this problem by building a much better quality reel that is able to use braided line and practically any other line you want to use, without all the problems that comes along with other reels!
