I'm feeling frustrated about the Zelda team's obsession over their new mantra that infinite creativity & freedom = better. As result, TLoZ is losing it's identity. Excited for this new game. It has that comfy & casual feeling that people look for in 2D Zelda games, but i fear it'll be the nail in the coffin traditional Zelda conventions. That feeling of progression (your character becoming stronger/more powerful, or the world opening up in new ways) is something the new zelda games arent pushing anymore. Hoping they strike a middle-ground with this game.

Well said. Even if you're given all the abilities early into the game, I think it was interesting the way in which Tears of the Kingdom continuously challenged you to find new uses for those tools. That said, you're right in that there wasn't my linearality to that, or much sense of escalation. I think we agree we would like Zelda to return to that style of game design for this. - Ewan

Sad people keep trashing Nintendo nowadays. Nintendo IPs keep becoming irrelevant every generations compared to ps xbox or big AAA games from capcom konami from software sega atlus bandai namco koei tecmo square enix kojima ea take2 cdpr ubisoft bethesda activision blizzard hoyoverse etc

I hope you didn't get the sense we were needlessly trashing Echoes of Wisdom. We're excited for the game on the whole, as we are for more Metroid, Mario and (should we get our wish) Donkey Kong. Maybe we're overly critical of the presentation of the games. I guess we'd like the Nintendo games we know and love running smoothly in high fidelity - but it's not the most important thing in the world. - Ewan
