I read about them last year. I really like the idea of the house lifting itself off the trailer and leveling itself. That alone is thousands of dollars saved by not having to rent a crane to hoist the house off the trailer. Great job introducing Ten-Fold to us.

Excellent point. However, Tenfold shouldn't completely rule out the need for a crane if/when a buyer needs to place a unit in a tight location, or wants to put units in a location where terrain makes trailering to the foundation, impossible.

Very good information! I have been keeping an eye on this company for over 4 years because of Amazon listings that I did not believe. If you look at their foreign website you'll see livable floorplans offered there. I can't wait to see one of these in a tropical storm to see if I'd be comfortable with living in it through a storm. I also can't wait to see what their hurricane rating will be, given the fellow Floridians anchor it to exceeded the current standards. This, of course, only time will tell. All that to say I'm super excited about this option because I think it will be most conducive for disabled living!!! ❤️ Thanks Kerry!!!
@dalegereaux18632 жыл бұрын
Anchoring it to the ground is of course a good idea but then what do you do when the storm surge comes in and it starts to fill up with water ? Maybe they could make those little legs that extend to lower it, raise it up about 20 ft also.

There is a place here in Australia where they produce folding homes like these! The place is called "van homes". They are treated as caravans as far as the rules go (council and roads). Excellent prices (2-4 bedrooms) all one type of model (to keep costs down I expect).
@__WJK__ Жыл бұрын
Interesting, how long have they been in business? I never heard of them & will have to look them up. UPDATE: Took a quick look & they don't look too bad. They're about $200/sqft. Thye actually look "similar" in build/build quality to the mobile homes we see in "trailer parks" here in the US. Looks like they would maybe be okay in areas that don't get too much rough weather, however, I don't see them getting approved in areas prone to high winds, hurricanes or areas that get a lot of snow(?)

You have to ask yourself why it is that these innovative, origami style modulars hit a roadblock from concept to full scale production. One part of the answer is that the concept itself is more exciting than it is viable; and the generated hype gains more momentum than an actual working production line. BOXABL comes to mind, as it threatens to be the Theranos of the offsite modular industry. No one takes into account the enormously complex manufacturing and production challenges that making these foldable homes represent. No less than 2, fully automated, 200K Sq. Ft. + at a minimum production facilities would be required to crank out 10 Casitas a week to be delivered. That’s only 520 a year out of a 70k waiting list. How long before these concepts all collapse as a house of cards?

A mobile home is a very cool idea! I think that there will be many who want to change the RV for such houses. By the way, such houses can create a new kind of huge business with a turnover of more than 1 billion dollars a year! Something like car camping sites, but especially for owners of folding houses. It is possible to equip and lease prepared plots of land: electricity, gas, water supply and sewerage. Only standardization of connection of communications will be necessary. Many landowners have vast tracts of land around the planet idle idle. Or you can go even further: develop and rent standardized floating islands with a full range of life support systems for such houses! And place them off the coast of popular places on the planet. No hotels, hostels, arnbi and bookings are needed. Folding container houses can carry specialized container carriers around the planet. The entire planet Earth can become temporary sites for living: every six months, move to another site on the planet. He folded the house and moved. )) What could be even simpler and more convenient?

Kerry, HDR on youtube has a bug. It’s too bright on all venues. Look at this on your iPhone. Turn the brightness down but leave it at just 25 pct. Do you see how bright that is. Nobody with an HDR tv wants your video to jump into super bright HDR. It’s simply overriding the settings on every device and blasting the brightness. Please go back to SDR. 2160p on SDR is where strong influencers live right now.

@ericB34442 жыл бұрын
@@KerryTarnow yeah I would go go the HD 60 frames. For a long time HDR wasn’t working at all on ios devices and on Apple TV devices showing you tube. It started working in the last few weeks. When the phone or tv detects HDR it launches the appropriate codec. When you watch like lets say Netflix HDR it will use correctly dark settings and your actual preferences. Apple on iPhone supporting HDR playback doesn’t give you any settings to chance. Since we can see that it comes in super bright at a super low brightness phone setttings its definitely a bug with you tube and HDR. So definitely avoid.
@ericB34442 жыл бұрын
@@KerryTarnow 4k is fine make sure it to let it NOT record in HDR. What would happen is that tv quality picture fans that watch you will be like “WTF why is my tv so bright.” Eventually they will subconsciously avoid you tube HDR videos that annoy them.
