Thank you for this video! I've been fixating on prepping for a while but even more now that the next four years are so uncertain. I'm transcribing a lot of my notes into an all-purpose notebook in case of power failure & other issues. People think I'm overreacting, but if disaster movies taught me one thing, it's the people unprepared that are crying later after making jokes.

@@reliableprepper I’m working on Solar stuff right now. I’ve gathered different way to light my home from solar. Now I’m trying to learn how solar panels work with batteries to power my freezer & washer & well pump. I’m on propane for cooking, heating & hot water. I need a book on ‘solar 4 dummies’ I guess. Hey Prepper! I am conflicted about getting supplemental and standalone solar panels. My conflict arises when it comes to home safety and civil unrest. If those without see that I have power, that's a huge target. Do you have a tips to help?
@reliableprepper6 күн бұрын
That’s a real concern. One idea is to install panels in less visible areas or use window/door coverings at night to avoid shining a beacon of light. Another option is a quieter backup system like a small generator or battery bank for after dark, so people don’t notice you have electricity. Blend in where you can, and keep it low-profile.
@awesomedayz34656 күн бұрын
@reliableprepper good tips. I was thinking about installing plywood locks on the outside of my windows and having prefabricated sheet metal sized to the windows for emergency placement. They make them for hurricane preparation. Not foolproof just another layer.

That’s a smart move, Debbie! Water is one of the most critical things to prepare for, and a silcock key is such an underrated tool for apartment dwellers. Have you looked into collapsible water storage bags? They’re great for saving space!

It looks to me like the billionaires now completely own the U.S. federal government. And, if so, I expect there will be an acceleration of the transfer of wealth from the many (most of us) to the few (those few billionaires). I expect to see increased cost of food, utilities, rent, mortgage loans and consumer goods because that is good for corporate profits and the billionaires own most of the corporations. I expect increased taxes on all of us who are not billionaires so the billionaires can continue to get a tax-free ride at our expense. I expect a sharp decline in the use of government funds to help those people who are not rich. Many of us will say goodby to the social welfare payments and programs from which we currently receive benefits. I expect a decline in the quality of public education because the very rich do not care about the rest of us or our children and free education does nothing for corporate profits. And too much education for the poor can create dangerous rebels who know how to cause maximum disruption. I expect to see increased pollution of air and water because those pesky environmental protection laws interfere with corporate profit. I expect increased costs of every kind of insurance because the very rich own the insurance companies and want to increase their profits while minimizing losses by dropping coverage instead of paying claims. I expect decreased availability of health care for those of us who are not rich because treating the under-insured poor (if you are not rich, then the rich consider you to be poor) cuts into corporate profits. I expect increased infringement of our freedoms and punitive use of governmental powers against those who dare to speak out against an increasingly authoritarian government that only works for the benefit of very rich. And if the billionaires choose that the U.S. will start a war somewhere in the world to increase corporate profits (such as free transit of U.S. goods through the Panama Canal), I expect it will not be the billionaires that actually fight that war. At some point, the billionaires will feel safe to disarm the American public through gradual measures that increasingly restrict gun ownership. And when only the security forces of the billionaires -- and the federal government they own -- have firearms, the rest of us will be obedient or else. I expect that within the next 100 years just a few billionaires will own most of the agricultural and timber producing land in the U.S., most of the water rights, most of the mining and drilling rights and will own most of the rental housing. And most of the population will be renting because owning a home will be out of reach for anyone who is not very wealthy. And it will be increasingly difficult for anyone who is not from a rich family to become rich. I expect that in two or three more generations most Americans will be either chronically unemployed or will be government employees doing their masters' bidding or will be landless serfs working for a small group of the powerful and will be grateful to get any low wage employment at all doing the work that cannot be given to robotics and AI. Unless you are a billionaire, expect that your grandchildren and great grandchildren will either be thugs that keep the peasants in line or will be in the fields picking tomatoes -- work that is now done by the illegals. It will be medieval times all over again, but enhanced with machinery, robotics, computers, surveillance cameras and AI.

@vilnis950610 күн бұрын
@@NeverbelievethemDems had a lot of frustrating and inexplicable faults. But what you're missing is that the previous administration wasn't almost entirely made up of unqualified and unelected (Musk) billionaires nor was the power concentrated in the hands of one solitary person-( who thinks a virus- real or imagined- can be cured by injecting household bleach into the bloodstream.) Nowhere anytime in history has that power of One ended well. In fact it always ends very badly- for all- including the One. But enjoy it while you can- I'm just glad I'm not black, brown, immigrant/immigrant offspring, old, gay, sick, mentally ill, low earning, a business owner, someone responsible for keeping a child fed and educated, flora/fauna or female and living in America. And I hope my country cuts military ties with the USA because they can no longer be thought of as trusted allies considering the threats being made against their own allies by your new president and his extreme form the wagons in a circle isolationist approach. I hope it all works out for you. Peace.
