I love the technical breakdown videos like this. As a former owner of a SBA, and a current BC XRS 154 owner. I spend most my time in MN, but also take the same sled out to the mountains for about 4-8 days riding/year. I can't have both a trail/mountain sled due to my wifes thoughts on the sledding budget. :) The turbo BC would be perfect if i could get it in my 39"/154 combo. Hopefully next year!! I'll slow down a little on the trails in compromise for it's ease in the mountains. The SBA i was exhausted at the end of the days mountain riding. Although I'll admit, me on the SBA was faster than me on the BC XRS trail riding.... But I'm okay with that now.

What is the SBA your referring? Thanks. I’m looking for a crossover sled for some off trail play and be able to get back to the house on the trails.

Next video request: after ride weights. weight after riding to see how much snow each sled tends to carry with it, with 3 different trials and snow conditions to average it out for accuracy.

I don’t get what they are trying to do with the backcountry. They should make the backcountry a freeride but with the trail cooling as a 30% trail/70% offtrail for all the Midwest/prairie guys that ride at home in low snow conditions but take trips to the mountains. Then just make a 146 renegade as a 70% trail/30% off trail for the rest

Good info - and info that generally the dealer does not spend time educating you on. Spending some time on how to use the features makes your time riding more enjoyable.

It makes no sense to have a GPS map system, then a different map system BRP Go to be able to get the routing features and see points of interest, plus you still need to have the phone plugged in to get that to work which creates a whole another set of issues. It's so frustrating BRP can't get this right. They are so far behind the Ridecommand 7S yet. Thanks for the video Luke.

I agree. And when he said if you lose your cell phones coverage you won't see your groups positions on the map... Why? The sled has its own GPS. Why should you need phone coverage?

I have used my gps on the sled 2 times in the last week after installing the gps unit in my 24 lynx, I'm actually super disappointed with the interface, "every" time ypu start the sled you have to re-do the start up screen, then to use see the gps ypu have to Re-select "use sleds gps" thenypu can see the map, wait for the sled to repair with your phone and have your phone plugged in to the sled.....this is just on start up, Why is this all not automated??? Second is to use the map to see any roads trails features ypu have to be SO zoomed in it's almost useless the second you try to find anything else or see where the trail goes in relation to your current position you have to zoom out then ypu loose all the trail info

For OTA updates you need to have a trickle charger and don't leave the sled if you do not have the keep awake jumper because the display will time out and go to sleep if your not there to cancel the timeout timer.

When you buy the GPS module that $4 plug should be included 🤔🙄.

Any idea why skidoo doesn't use a tipped up rail to help improve the trail handling experience? Also, I don't understand why skidoo uses a starter on trail sleds if they can use the magneto to start the sled. Even if you keep the battery, the shot system would seem to be better/lighter. Use a lightweight Lithium battery in conjunction with the capacitor, and you are good to go.

Mind me asking Jeff, was installing GPS module difficult? How much? I am considering adding to my 2023 XRS but maybe not based on all of this concerning banter. Thanks for your time!

Yeah, so advanced you need to add fuel stabilizer or else the sled might literally explode lmao. That’s if the clutch doesnt fly out of the sled first! ETEC is 15 years old and still more advanced than anything Polaris has come out with. Cleaner, smoother, more efficient, and crucially: more reliable. There’s a reason Polaris secondhand market falls off a cliff after 3,000 miles.

@CDX7 I'm not sure where you're getting better reliability from in a Doo... 4 friends of mine bought new BC's last year and 3 of them blew the reeds out inside of 200 miles...
@CDX716 күн бұрын
@@burtmacklin92 You are speaking in anecdote’s, while I’m referring to two major stop-ride recalls. Both times the Polaris dealer network got slammed and take valuable riding time away from an already limited season. Next, the secondhand market normalizes these variables, it’s why Toyotas sell for more than Fords. ETECs still sell at 5k miles for a premium, whereas Polaris falls off a cliff.

The big problem is Ski Doo in a video on this channel they said they wanted 100 % of the snowmobile market .. that would be bad .
