As a lions fan it's really weird to have actual reasons to think we will have season this year. Lions fan get delusional every off season hoping that the next year will be good and for the first time in like 20 years we can have actual hope.

Nice video! It's nice to hear fresh opinions. Idk if this is who you were talking about but Amon-Ra mentioned in his podcast that they wanted to do the 4th downs. Also crazy that he was playing the season on a torn oblique. That team is built on grit

thanks im glad you enjoyed! yeah that team is legitimately tough to the bone, dan campbell (and his staff!) is putting on a masterclass of how important coaching is

youre right, i was just aiming to hit the biggest storylines of each team and i didnt end up mentioning them. this video was already a bit longer than all the other ones i did so i left some stuff out, but thats a good call out that wouldve further emphasized the lions trying to get better at cb

Da Bears; Remember that streak where they used Designed QB Rushes & the Bears scored 2X what they normally did? Who was the brilliant decision-maker who went back to the plays they knew scored half as many points for A Full Year After knowing that those plays didn't work? If you say 'Getsy' then you have to explain how Eberflus didn't notice his team scoring half as many points for a full year. So he either approved of this or was directly responsible for it, or he's totally incompetent. Which is a good option? So to recap, 1) either Eberflus is totally inept, 2) or he intentionally undermined Fields. In which case, we can no longer use all of the BS memes that he hung onto the ball too long or can't read defenses. (The plays asking him to Not Throw to certain receivers on certain plays were designed to make those things seem true & HOW tf is it possible _to_ not hang onto the ball when your own HC orders you not to pass it)? So the only fair comparisons we have of Fields & Caleb are both in college &/or with Fields' '21 performances so long as those aren't tainted. Here is kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3uyYoOpqtV5lbc a video that spliced their college highlights together. Seen side by side like this it's clear: Fields is a slightly better rusher & scrambler, but we KNOW he got better at both in the NFL. But he's a MUCH more accurate passer whose low-flying missiles hit his receivers in their hands before defenders can make plays on them even when they're looking right at him. Fields set accuracy records in college. This is why. So what happened in '21? kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZ3TkqyXZd2tY5Y. A receiving corps that avoided making catches, including his #1 WR for his 1st 2 years swatting away at footballs like he thought they were swarms of attacking bees. He got perhaps the Only Receiving Corps in all the NFL who possibly could turn his accurate passes into anything but receptions. So, the only honest comparison we have is the college tape that shows us Fields can do everything Caleb does & better, but not the reverse. So being that it was a case of being able to trade the QB who is a tier above the other or the #1 pick for way, way more & get MHJR & whatever else instead of just Odunze, you both got less AND DOWNGRADED AT the QB position. Great trade!! I don't think Pickens, Washington & Freiermouth are gonna swat Fields' passes away nor that Arthur Smith is gonna order Fields to not throw to any of 'em.

you definitely bring up some interesting points, but the one i agree with most is I do not like the coaching staff in chicago. I cut out a whole section of the vid saying im surprised they kept eberflus and kind of expect him to be gone next year if caleb williams rookie season doesnt go well. would love to see fields get a second chance in pitt in a run first offense though!

@@GoatStackProductions I take "like" out of the equation. I don't "like" Kliff K., I think that the only person who could possibly have requested a study clause be put in Kyler Murray's contract was him & how did he not think this would cause a rift between them? But he may be exactly what Daniels needs. If I remember correctly though, the timeline went like this: week 5 Fields does something new & stops himself throwing to an open receiver. When he does this 2-3 more times the same game & the Bears never take him into protocol, people watching that game realize that Not Throwing to those receivers on those plays *were play-calls.* Let that sink in for a bit. This is where Eberflus got a temporary bad rep for how he handled the press. They wanted to hear from him whether this was or wasn't & he tried to stop them asking questions with a chop-wave motion of his arm. After week 7 of '22 if memory serves was when Fields called out his coaches for confusing him _the _*_FIRST_*_ time_ & week 8 the plays changed. Not a coincidence. Fields calling this out on the heels of the media wanting to know if those were indeed play-calls? But here's the more important facet everyone seems to miss about it: do you remember what the Bears said in response to Fields' public response? Nothing. They said nothing. The HC whose job supposedly depended on making it work with him wasn't concerned that one of his subordinates was setting him up to fail? The GM whose career could be haunted by trading away this franchise QB instead of the far more he could get for the #1 pick didn't want to investigate? If Bellichick had responded to the Mac Jones fiasco with silence we'd all *know for 100% certain* Jones was a goner. If you ask me, that's what the silence of the entire Bears staff indicated, that they already made up their minds to move on from Fields. If Poles _wasn't okay_ with that decision, he had a funny way of showing it. So why would 'Flus get fired? He was carrying out what Poles, the guy who hired him wanted. Why else would _he_ be okay with any coach confusing his QB unless he too wanted them out? So I don't think it's a case of they've been trying to win all this time & Fields held them back. They voluntarily returned to plays they knew halved their scoring & stayed with it for Over A Year by accident? Riiiight... But even if I'm wrong & this wasn't intentional (then why'd no one look into it) & okay, it was all Getsy's doing, we're looking at an NFL HC who can't see what casual fans can? No, I'm not buying *that.* That screams of people trying not to see what seems likelier, that they Never Intended on anything but moving on from Fields & called plays designed to make him look inept. Have you _EVER seen_ o-line players run away from blocks as seen in the 1st 23 minutes of kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJrMfGVni998ldE? & if J.T. O'Sullivan ain't exaggeratin', each one happened multiple times. That was Week One of '23. No one in the backfield, no check-downs. Even drop-backs are part of the plays coaches call. So we have video footage suggesting that his own coaches called for his own o-line to allow pass-rushers through to him on plays where they called for no one to be in the backfield or ready for a check-down. Seems to me like they were sending him a message.
