It must be infuriating for Browns fans to never be able to have a great QB. They’ve had a bunch of #1 overall picks, and top 5 picks, and they just can’t figure out that position. In the end, they probably won't (and shouldn't) but I honestly think, at least at some point, the owner's motivation to keep Watson playing is/ might be rationalized in large part by pure spite. I think if he's not already there, Watson himself may soon be hoping for a benching... put an end to the embarrassment, subtly embrace the villain role, and set cruise control on easy street being a ridiculously overpaid backup QB.

I wouldn't even give Brady in his prime a contract as fat as they gave Watson. That is the biggest problem. It's not just that they thought they had their super bowl quarterback (Dak Prescott's contract is right around the same size as Watson's) but they thought it was this trash can of a human being who has settled on two dozen assault accusations. The Browns need to fire basically everyone, starting with their general manager. They are once again approriately named the Browns after what they've become, a big piece of crap.

A big factor that i think gets forgotten about is the switch from Alex Van Pelt to Ken Dorsey. You really thought Ken Dorsey, who couldn't do much with Josh Allen, would be an upgrade over what you already had going on. Watson actually looked better in the old offense compared to this one. Still bad, but strangely more competent. The new scheme as a whole is suspect
