Philly is salivating for an elite player
@malakaspawt31906 ай бұрын
"Philly is salivating for an elite player" They're picking 12th, so there's still going to be good players available. If they think they'd be satisfied to settle with Igor Chernyshov or Trevor Connelly, then they don't need to make a trade/move. Both of them will be available at 12th, both are LW, so that works if one of them is ever paired to Michkov in the future. Cole Eiserman will also be available at 12th, and he's also a LW. So there is nothing to worry about, they will get a good player they can sit and wait for their turn... ...Or the Flyers could do an audacious trade, say if they wanted to get a guy like Demidov with plans of making him a center. They could trade with Utah or Seattle to advance to 6th or 8th. I'm naming Utah and Seattle because Chicago, Anaheim, Colombus and Montreal will all pass on Demidov. I think that Utah should pick a D, but I don't know why I feel like there would be the owner or the GM of Utah calling an audible to pick Demidov if he was available at 6th. Let's a make a scenario here with a few paths. San Jose picks Celebrini. Montreal is hoping for Lindstrom and if he's gone then Parekh, then they got Greentree, Sennecke, Helenius and Hage on their list. Utah is looking for a D but they would consider Lindstrom, Demidov and perhaps even Iginla. Ottawa is hoping for Parekh, but they like also Greentree, Sennecke and Iginla. Calgary is hoping for Iginla. So.. Chicago surprises everyone and picks Yakemchuk 2nd overall. Buffalo are pissed. Anaheim panics because their top 1 rated D is available and decide to pick him; Buium is picked 3rd overall. Colombus laugh their ass off and easily pick Lindstrom 4th overall. Montreal takes their first timeout. They consider taking Parekh now or swapping their pick with Calgary, since Levshunov, Silayev and Dickinson are still up. If they are lucky, Montreal would be able to pick up Parekh 9th. Calgary knows that Utah, Ottawa and Seattle will consider Iginla, but they don't think Demidov will fall off the top10 which is good for them so they're not entirely sure they should trade until MTL tells thems that they will pick Iginla otherwise because he is a sure value, and that they've learned from the mistake of the previous scouting team when they picked Kotkaniemi over Brady Tkachuk so if Calgary can provide a player for the swap, someone like Kuzmenko, then MTL are willing to chip in a 3rd-rd pick to equalize the value. Calgary takes a moment to think about it. Path 1: Calgary accepts, and MTL gets a player(Kuzmenko) from CAL for the pick swap, and Calgary picks Iginla 5th overall. Utah can't believe Demidov is available, the owner calls an audible and Utah picks Demidov 6th overall. Ottawa speaks next and picks Parekh 7th overall. Montreal are pissed but they've got a back-up plan. Seattle then goes for Levshunov 8th overall. Montreal sighs and picks Hage 9th overall. New Jersey picks Silayev 10th overall. Buffalo damns Chicago for picking Yakemchuk, they call their first timeout to take a good hard look at the remaining top forwards on their list and none are enticing enough since they have lots of forwards in their prospect pool already, so they choose to go with the last of the 6th top D everyone talks about. Buffalo picks Dickinson 11th overall. Path 2: CAL and MTL doesn't make a trade and MTL picks Parekh 5th overall. Ottawa is pissed. Utah can't believe Demidov is available, the owner calls the audible and they pick Demidov 6th overall. Ottawa missed their target by 2, and are looking at Dickinson. They wanted Parekh, so they call their first timeout. Their scouts team are considering Sennecke, Greentree and Iginla. If they make a trade, Iginla is gone, and Sennecke and Greentree will be available at 9th. They're thinking about the same strategy that MTL did. OTT calls CAL and tells them they want something in return for the pick swap since they wanted Parekh and MTL was a pain in the arse, now they can't convince themselves from not picking Iginla because of the potential of his ceiling. CAL feels like OTT are a lot more desperate than MTL were, since MTL seemed comfortable giving Iginla away whereas OTT were desperate to take him and were bitter they didn't get Parekh. Path 2 A: CAL takes the bait but they don't give Kuzmenko, they give something else (whatever it is). Calgary then picks Iginla 7th overall. Seattle picks Levshunov 8th overall. Ottawa picks Greentree 9th overall. NJ picks Silayev 10th overall. Buffalo glares at Chicago, Yakemchuk was their man but alas, they pick Dickinson 11th overall. Path 2 B: CAL tells no to OTT. Ottawa picks Iginla 7th overall. Seattle picks Levshunov 8th overall. Calgary regrets their non-trade but decides to pick Catton. NJ picks Silayev 10th overall. Buffalo Dickinson 11th overall. The Flyers are in good shape whatever happens, there's going to be lots of good players left!

I don't mean to brag or anything, but I've been saying he would be coming to Philly this season since the day he was drafted. There are posts on other videos about him from me that can prove that I'm not making it up. I heard rumors that he was basically holding the draft hostage by saying he wouldn't leave the KHL for any other team but Philly.... Which is awesome. The ONLY reason he didn't go 2nd overall (maybe 1st) is because he's Russian, and he had mono which hurt his production leading up to the draft. I can't wait for the Bedard vs Michkov rivalry. They actually have extremely similar styles too. They both do that drag that can become a dangle or a shot (both have laser beam shots) which puts defenders with no choice but to attack.... which leads to a pass to a back door slam-dunk or they make the d look like beer league players.... or they shoot it and make the goalie look like he's standing still. The one leg up Michkov has is that he's been playing against men for longer, and, he's a bigger guy than Bedard. Bedard has massive legs but other than that, he's a bit on the weak side. Michkov isn't and has the same massive legs with a man's body to match.

Flyers are pulling Hextall era mistakes and failing MISERABLY rebuilding AGAIN already!!! Sadly! Just look at the JOKES Michkov has to Center him and the MANY MOVES that could have been made already to draft or trade and get a competent 1C for him to play with. Instead we drafted a bottom6 ceiling 2nd round talent at 13th overall while passing on players with MUCH higher (Elite) ceilings because of "culture" or not liking an agent or some Hextall era 🤡💩 like that. ALREADY!!! Meanwhile Flyers are worried about signing 4th liners for term. Absolutely atrocious moves made (and NOT made) in the past year. No playoffs and no top5 picks, and no significant trades for elite talent or top5 1st picks again is REALLY all we need to know. That's the truth no one will want to swallow until we see ANOTHER batch of overrated, overhyped, mediocre prospects come NOWHERE NEAR the Elite Level needed to be worth building around in a Rebuild. Meanwhile almost EVERY other Rebuilding team has Elite prospects and 1Cs to build around. Even if Michkov IS a Kucherov, Panarin, Ovechkin level talent, he NEEDS other Elite Level players around him! Not average pros on overpaid aging contracts. Just a fact of NHL life. Flyers management are inexperienced and DO NOT GET IT yet. Again.

Not to be "that guy," however, Russia illegally invaded Ukraine. Not really a war per se, as it meets none of the statutes under international law. Ok, anyway, Michkov really would've gone SECOND in last year's class if teams knew he'd be available in 12 months?
@uncletom3565 ай бұрын
How close is he to the PROSPECT version of Patrick Kane in '07? Is that who he'll play like? Unless his skating is much stronger than I realize, it's a bit confusing how this dude surpassed all those elite-elite Russian talents. MM def has a snipe for days. Still, idk, it's weird lol would appreciate any help. Thanks!

Michkov wasn’t passed over due to his contract. He was passed over for attitude issues and not being a team guy. If he was a clear cut number 2 he wouldn’t have dropped to 6th.

Naw. Hes too immature for this team. Besides, I want to see him get destroyed in Philly.

I have never watched a young player who reminds me of Gretzky as much as Michkov. As a Kraken fan, I’m glad he’s not in our conference.

@nathanadrian77974 ай бұрын
@@Full.Time.Watcher No, the reason he was passed over by Montreal, is because he has a "Me first" attitude", like Shane Wright, Patrick Laine and PLD. Those types of players quickly become dressing room cancers. Plus, I have heard from several sources that he was vocal about wanting to play for Philly(first heard that well before the draft). Demidov also has a KHL contract, but Montreal took him in a heart beat. Some players are just a better fit than others.

We will see. I’ve watched Michkov play like 10 of his games this year. His hockey iq isn’t ever mentioned but he’s always in the right areas, his skill is also on par with bedards, he can pass as good as anyone I’ve watched, his shot is silk, he’s a dangerous player and small enough to slip around defenders easy to find shooting lanes.
@nathanadrian77975 ай бұрын
@@sirfish9824 Translation= he is under sized, avoids the corners, is nowhere near as good as Bedard and will get destroyed in the NHL.
