Nice Narcissist is called Altruistic Narcissist, ...... My husband is an Altruistic Narcissist. he is the first one to help the elderly neighbor with her yardwork or to help do research for information someone would need, he is nice to EVERYONE ELSE, but me. he is the typical narc in all other aspects, his flat out refusal to acknowledge/accountability/apologize for anything he did wrong, he talks to me like Im stupid. after over a year of therapy, I have learned and gain my confidence back to the point where I call him out om his crap. Now I am at the point where I just throw is narcissism back in his face saying..."Do you need attention, or do you need to to react or get mad about something here ?" he does not like that but Im at the place where I dont care anymore.

I disagree. I think and was also taught to be friendly and treat people nice. If you don't care about them, don't brag about the person. Just say nothing. The world would be better if more people were pleasant and amiable. Being nice to everyone is a stretch but some people believe in that too. How you feel inside is no ones business and doesn't matter as long as one behaves. Not everyone cares about a lot of people. It makes one feel better to care but no one is perfect.

Narcissism is personality style, not some comments here and there. It’s not necessarily about unsupportive comments. It’s about control and power - THEIR, the narc’s self image. The thing about a narchole being nice is usually because they want something. They arent genuinely nice people. For example, someone who tries stroking your ego. Just bombarding you with unwarranted compliments. Pay attention as to what comes right after the ego stroke. Narcissist believe theyre flattering with their bs. They can be very passive aggressive as well

I have an ex friend just like this. Another thing she will do is come around when she hears something bad happened to me. She's only coming around to gather gossip material to take to her chosen group of friends. As a matter of fact, there's been more than one girl just like this. That's why I don't hang around them, because their all backstabbing people.

I used to steal stuff because I was living with a narcissist who wanted to pursue a career that would have never given our family enough money and no matter how hard I tried to convince this person to start a better stable job (or our own business together) he would refuse. He would always say "thank you" for the stolen gifts I would give him and then went on to tell his family that I am a thief and he was "worried about me". Everyone in the family started hating me because of that, despite the fact that I no longer do that. As a consequence his family tried to convince him to put me in jail. I wrote to them saying "your son has been having serious depression episodes and metal problems for a long time and now he is doing THIS". And everyone replied to me "no, he's a good boy, he would never do something like that. You are the liar" I guess I can call it a day.

When they want to act like they care but then make you feel bad because you unpack things thoughtfully. When they tell you you’re looking at things wrong because you have had history with something and you’re cautious. If you've been dealing with a "nice" person for a while and one day they ask you for a favor and you help them, then afterwards you feel violated or used, you're most likely dealing with a narcissist. Happened to me yesterday. The owner of my residence, an old "nice" woman asked me to lend her money for an emergency which I did. (Because she was always "nice" to me). That night I felt used even though she had promised to pay me back - and even if she didn't I would just deduct it from my next rent payment. My psyche identified her as a toxic person though she seemed very friendly. She was also very religious. Often I would hear her praying in the morning and she never missed a Sunday church service. Lesson learned: I'm never lending her money ever again and limiting my interactions with her. A narcissist's "niceness" may fool us but their toxic energy always finds a way to come out. Always pay attention to your gut!

Instead of asking myself why they don't hurt me physically or outwardly, I tested them to prove to myself that I wasn't overreacting and put them in a situation where they had no choice but to urgently use all their tactics in one go so I could see it clearly. It broke my heart but allowed me then to safety remove myself from their presence.

An excellent video and somewhat different from other people’s who tend to dwell on the negative and demonic. I’m not saying that isn’t always the case as I think there is infinite variation with all Narcissists. I would describe my ex as borderline. Someone who is loved by everyone-leaving egg on my face if I try and show others how badly she treated me! Of course in my frustration I shot myself in the foot by getting verbally angry with her-just what she wanted so she could go around spreading her poison about me! They are not always super intelligent but by goodness they are super skilled in their arguments and what they can do to you and tell you friends and family to destroy you and boost their own ego. The harder you fight to justify yourself the more you get buried. It’s your true friends who see through it thank God and actually support you both.

This is so true. My ex narcissist is absolutely loved and adored by everyone. I too git frustrated and in my case I gave out about them, through alcohol, to a friend. The narc heard it all and thus my fate was sealed. Its been hell as I am totally discredited and have gone no-contact. Better that than try to convince people about the narc. Too late. But that's exactly what they planned. Cognitive dissonance led to reactive abuse. I am humiliated and dismissed. I can move on and am already starting to heal. The narcissist can not change and must live their life in this way FOREVER! I regret meeting them in the first place but I thank God for freeing me at last.

It's extremely hard to come out of denial because he was so nice to me but so many red flags: he pointed out a mole on my eyelid, he hasn't told anyone about me, he gives a lot then makes snide comments that let me know he's angry but won't say anything, goes silent for weeks, makes plans for weeks to visit others etc.

I am an empath. My ex-wife is coming to visit me next month. She is the 'nice narcissist'. But I know she is wearing a mask. This I know. The last time I saw her was 27 years ago, back in 1996. I suppose I'm a fool for the fact I still love her. I want to see her. Not to hurt her. Simply put, my curiosity of her is at an all-time high. I am aware that this is not a good situation. Yet, I feel I must encounter this upcoming experience.

@jay1prauve1998 - Omg - I hope you survived the visit and you didn’t fall for it again. I divorced my ex in 1996 as well - a “nice narcissist”. No one believed me when I said he wasn’t the nice guy he’s pretending to be. Years later, he murdered an ex girlfriend because she didn’t want to date him. People believe me now - but it took him murdering someone in order for people to see him for who he really is. He’s in prison now, hopefully for remainder of his life. Trust your gut, everyone!

Your notions of what is narcisista are are truly warped and false I’m a narcissist and when I congratulate somone on there accomplishments I mean it I’m a leader I inspire others to be great lesser than me but they are great I’m their own right
